If you are looking for a first contact with the rock that combines bridges, height and fun, the granophyre of Ribes is waiting for you.
Get ready for a 3-hour adventure in the heart of the Pyrenees climbing the only granophyre of volcanic origin in Catalonia. A fun and accessible beginner's level route (K2), where you will progress safely through simple vertical sections and 3 exciting bridges. Under the supervision of qualified guides, you will conquer the heights to enjoy the best panoramic views of the Núria Valley and Cerdanya.
What we will do
We’ll meet 30 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Ribes de Freser, Girona. We’ll be welcomed there and, after introductions, we’ll get kitted out with all the technical equipment whilst we go through a safety briefing. It doesn’t matter if it’s our first time; they’ll explain step by step how to use the harness and belay devices so that we can make our way up the wall completely independently and with confidence right from the start.
After a walk of just 15 minutes, we’ll leave the tarmac behind and find ourselves standing before the Roca de la Creu. This is where the real adventure begins: we’ll be climbing on Catalonia’s only volcanic granophyre, a rough, solid rock that seems designed to ensure your hands and feet always find the perfect foothold. As we climb, the route becomes more exciting but always manageable, allowing us to enjoy the height without feeling overwhelmed.
The highlight comes with the three suspension bridges. Feeling the sway beneath our feet as we cross from one boulder to another is pure adrenaline, but always with the reassurance of being secured to the safety line. As we make our way along the 380-metre route, the horizon gradually opens up to reveal the Ribes Valley and the peaks of the Pyrenees from a perspective known only to climbers.
After around three hours of activity, we’ll reach the summit with the exhilaration of having overcome the challenge. But the experience doesn’t end when we come down; after a 40-minute descent, we’ll get together to enjoy a final refreshment. It’ll be time to relax, discuss the day’s highlights and celebrate our first major vertical conquest.
Who it is aimed at
This via ferrata is suitable for beginners.
It is an easy level (K1-K2), so you only need to be in normal physical condition.
The minimum weight of the participants is 40 kg and the maximum is 120 kg.
The minimum height is 1. 40 metres.
For safety reasons, the activity is not suitable for pregnant women, people with serious heart problems or reduced mobility.
Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The activity is possible every day, all year round.
Parking is available in the area.
It is possible to reach the surrounding area by public transport.
Accompanying persons not participating can wait at the meeting point.
A minimum of 4 people is required to confirm the departure and a maximum of 40 (with one guide for every 8/10 participants) .

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
