Full description
Enjoy a unique sensation watching the Ebro depression and the Montsant at your feet. The via ferrata Barranc de la Foig is perfect as a first contact with this exciting sport.
Together with an expert instructor you will challenge your skills in this 2-hour route in the middle of nature. You will be able to climb the chain and steps without feeling too dizzy and, once you reach the highest point, you will be fascinated by the marvellous panoramic views.
4 km, 580 metres of via ferrata and a difference in height of 165 metres in an experience that will fill you with pride.
What we will do
The meeting point is the Tivissa Tourist Office. The activity monitors will meet us there 30 minutes before the start of the activity to give us the equipment: helmet, harness and dissipative tapes.
We will attend an initial training on the safety rules and climbing techniques that we will use. While we do the first section on foot, they will explain how the route will develop, ideal for a first contact with the via ferrata.
Then our adventure will begin, which will consist of crossing the Barranc de la Foig, on the north face of the Tivissa mountain range . Despite being very close to the village, we will immediately feel in full contact with nature. Surrounded by vegetation, we will start our ascent along this dry cliff with up to 4 sections of steps and chain. We will have to show our agility at some points along the route, but without putting our vertigo to the test.
Once at the top, as soon as we get out of the narrow ravine, the wonderful views will leave us speechless. It will be worth all our effort, and we will be able to regain our strength as we can see the Ebro depression, the Montsant or the village of Tivissa at our feet.
After a well-deserved break, we will start the descent, which will also be on the north face of the mountain range. If we wish, we can finish with a 20-metre abseiling descent. Otherwise, our instructor will lead us through an alternative section until we return to the starting point. In a total distance of about 4 km we will cover 580 metres of via ferrata and we will overcome a difference in height of 165 metres.
In total, the route will last 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone in good physical condition (appropriate to the type of activity).
Children can participate from the age of 12 and must be accompanied by a responsible adult or present a signed permission slip.
Other information
The activity can be done all year round. It will be confirmed if a minimum of 3 people is reached and each group will have a maximum of 8 participants.
It is possible to do private routes with up to 2 people with a supplement of 6 euros/person.
Free parking is possible near the meeting point and the route is circular, so you start and finish at the same point.
The route is classified as k2, beginners' level. It is possible to finish the route with abseiling if previously requested.
At the end of the activity you will receive the photos taken during the route.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
