First diving experience in Cabo de Palos, Murcia

Adjust your regulator and get ready to fall in love with scuba diving.

Get started in scuba diving in the Cabo de Palos and Islas Hormiga Marine Reserve, a privileged enclave where the Mediterranean is teeming with life. In this four-hour experience, you'll receive full training and practice before diving in the open sea.

Your first dive in waters that are the jewel in the crown of national diving.

What we will do

The appointment will be 10 minutes before the booking time at the dive centre located very close to La Manga del Mar Menor, Murcia. As we will have previously compiled the medical form, the registration process for the activity will be very quick and we will be ready to start right away.

We will start with a 20 minute introductory class at the centre to get you acquainted with the basics. Afterwards, we will equip ourselves with all the necessary equipment and we will do a first practice session of about 40 minutes in confined waters, the ideal environment to familiarise ourselves with the equipment.

Once prepared, we will travel in the centre's vehicle to the beach chosen for the adventure. Normally, the activity takes place in the spectacular Marine Reserve of Cabo de Palos and Islas Hormigas, although if the weather conditions require it, we will move to Cartagena to ensure a perfect dive.

There it will be time to venture into open water, always under the supervision of the instructor. For a maximum of one hour, we will dive to a depth of between 4 and 8 metres. We will be able to see numerous fish of different sizes and colours, sea bream, salps, posidonia fields and, with a bit of luck, the odd octopus camouflaged among the rocks.

At the end of the underwater exploration, we will return to the dive centre to end the day. The whole experience will last about 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This is an introductory diving activity and no experience is necessary.

Good health is required and you will be asked to fill in a medical form as soon as your booking is confirmed. If you have a previous medical condition that may affect your ability to dive, you may be required to present a medical certificate issued by a doctor. It is possible to participate from the age of 10 years and over. Minors must be accompanied and present the medical form signed by a legal guardian.

It is necessary to know how to swim or at least feel comfortable in the water.

The activity is not suitable for pregnant women.

It is not an accessible experience for people with motor disabilities.

Other information

It is possible to do the experience from April to December.

In the dive centre there is a toilet and a changing room. There are no hot showers, only the equipment cleaning area with cold water.

If you have your own mask, you can use it. The rest of the equipment will be delivered to you at the dive centre.

Although there are no locked lockers, there is a secure storage area in the reception area .

Any accompanying persons not participating in the dive can wait at the dive centre. If there are free places in the vehicle, they can also accompany the group to the beach.
