If you’re looking for a real adrenaline rush in the Picos de Europa, this adventure is for you!
On this roughly 3-hour route, you’ll conquer the most vertiginous sections of Cantabria: El Milar and the legendary Escalera al Cielo. You’ll brave the void by crossing chain bridges and a spectacular 50-metre ladder suspended in mid-air, enjoying an intense yet completely safe experience led by expert guides.

What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before the booked time at the meeting point in the village of La Hermida, Cantabria. There, we’ll be joined by our team of qualified guides, who will welcome us and provide us with approved technical equipment: a harness, energy absorber and helmet. After a brief explanation of how to move safely along the safety cable, we’ll begin the approach on foot directly towards the rock face, taking in the immensity of the limestone walls surrounding us.
We’ll dive straight into the El Milar section, a vertical K3-K4 wall situated to the right of the River Deva. We’ll cross a fun chain bridge and tackle three key sections: a 20-metre dihedral ascending diagonally, an 80-metre aerial traverse with a small, thrilling overhang, and a technical exit using natural rock holds.
Once at the top, next to the flag that crowns the summit, we’ll get ready to cross the river again in spectacular fashion: with a 25-metre zip line that will send us soaring over the riverbed! After this huge adrenaline rush, the adventure will continue straight away to the highlight of the day: the imposing Stairway to Heaven.
After crossing a suspension bridge, we’ll find ourselves facing a 50-metre-long metal structure suspended in the air between two massive rock faces. We’ll feel the real sensation of vertigo as we climb step by step, looking down at the abyss beneath our feet. We’ll conclude this incredible vertical adventure by returning to the starting point to celebrate the challenge we’ve overcome, completing a full experience that, including preparations and the route, will take us around 3 hours in total, depending on the size of the group.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for beginners. The via ferrata is rated K3-K4 (medium difficulty) . It requires a good level of fitness.
There is no minimum age requirement, but you must weigh at least 40 kg and be at least 1. 35 metres tall for the safety harness to fit properly.
Minors must always be accompanied by an adult.
For safety reasons, pregnant women and people with reduced mobility are not permitted to take part.
Other information
The experience is available every day of the year, with a scheduled departure at 9. 00 am, subject to weather conditions.
It is organised in shared groups of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 participants.
Free parking is available at the meeting point . We do not recommend travelling by public transport.
Pets are not permitted on this activity.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
