If you’re looking to break the monotony and discover Soria’s best-kept secrets underground, this expedition is for you.
During this 2-hour experience, you’ll venture deep into the Cueva de la Galiana, in the stunning Río Lobos Canyon Natural Park. It’s the perfect introduction to caving as you explore galleries filled with stalactites, columns and iconic chambers such as the ‘Dormitorio’ and the ‘Lago’. You’ll tackle simple climbs and rope-assisted sections with the utmost safety and the constant support of qualified instructors.
What we will do
We’ll meet 10 minutes before the booked time at the meeting point in Ucero, Soria. There, we’ll meet our guide, who will welcome us and hand out all the technical equipment. After a brief briefing on how to proceed and safety guidelines for the underground environment, we’ll travel in the participants’ own vehicles to the entrance of the cave.
Once at the cave entrance, we’ll switch on our headlamps and venture into the Río Lobos Canyon, where the temperature remains consistently pleasant in both summer and winter. During the tour, we’ll explore spacious galleries whilst learning about the geology of this natural gem. We’ll pass through stunning chambers such as the ‘Sala del Dormitorio’, the ‘Sala del Lago’ and the ‘Sala de los Gours’, marvelling at every turn at the mineral spectacle of their stalactites and stalagmites.
To make our way along the route, we’ll tackle short climbs and simple sections assisted by climbing ropes, putting our agility to the test and enjoying an accessible introductory experience. After completing the journey through the depths, we’ll return to the surface and make our way back to the original meeting point.
This will bring to a close a fantastic day that will take us approximately 2 hours in total, as we bid farewell to the instructor, energised by having explored the very heart of Soria.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone; you don’t need any prior knowledge of caving.
The minimum age to take part is 10 years ( minors must always be accompanied by an adult) .
It is essential that you do not suffer from claustrophobia.
This activity is not suitable for pregnant women or participants with reduced mobility.
Other information
The experience is available all year round. There are daily sessions in the morning (10. 30 am) and in the afternoon (4. 30 pm) .
The tour is confirmed subject to a minimum of 6 people (maximum 15 participants per group) .
Free parking is available at the meeting point. There is no direct public transport to the meeting point.
Pets are not permitted.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
