Who said that the Costa del Sol is all about the beach?
Dare to try canyoning in the Guadalmina River in Benahavís. 3 hours of adventure, ideal for beginners, combining swimming, optional jumps and a final abseil in a unique natural setting just a stone's throw from the Costa del Sol.
If you need to cool off, the canyon is waiting for you.
What we will do
The guide will meet us at the meeting point in Benahavís about 15 minutes before the booking time. We will start by getting equipped with wetsuit, harness and helmet, while we attend a first introductory talk about the development of the activity.
Once ready, we will walk just 300 metres to the entrance of the canyon, where we will finish explaining all the descent techniques and the abseiling manoeuvre that we will practise.
We will start a route of about 2 kilometres along the Guadalmina river, in a spectacular setting between Sierra Bermeja and Sierra de las Nieves. It is an ideal route for beginners to canyoning, combining refreshing swimming sections with a multitude of optional jumps, the highest of which is 5 metres high.
Near the end of the route, when we feel that nothing can stop us, we will test our skills one last time with a 4-metre abseil. After approximately 2 hours of activity in the water, we will leave the riverbed and return on foot for about 20 minutes to get back to the starting point.
The total duration of the experience is approximately 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is ideal as a first experience of canyoning and can be done from the age of 8 years old.
Children between 8 and 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult; from 14 years of age it is possible to participate with the authorisation of a legal guardian.
It is necessary to know how to swim.
Pregnant womenare not advised to participate.
The experience is not accessible for people with reduced mobility.

The experience is available all year round and is confirmed when a minimum group of 2 people is reached.
Important: you have to communicate in advance to the guide the following information about each of the participants : height, weight, allergies or illnesses and if you know how to swim. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Accompanying persons who do not participate with possible pets can stay for a walk around the beautiful village of Benahavís.
Free parking is available in the vicinity of the meeting point; the guide will also advise you on a guarded paying car park to make your car safer. It is not possible to reach the area by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
