Visit to an urban winery with wine tasting and a platter of cold cuts and cheeses in Jumilla, Murcia

Discover the centuries-old winemaking tradition at Bodegas Silvano García. The old concrete vats, the underground barrels, the aroma room… Take a tour of this urban winery’s facilities and round off the experience with a tasting of six of its wines, paired with a full selection of appetisers.

What we will do

We’ll meet at the Bodegas Silvano García premises, in the centre of Jumilla, 10 minutes before the scheduled time. There, an expert wine tourism guide will greet us and welcome us with a glass of white or red vermouth , whichever we prefer.

We’ll begin the tour in the historic part of this urban winery, admiring the old concrete vats whilst learning how wine was made in the last century. We’ll continue to the cork and bottle room, before moving on to the aroma room, where we’ll train our noses to identify subtle nuances. To round off the tour, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, we’ll head down to the underground barrel cellar.

We’ll round off the experience with a guided tasting of six wines. We’ll start with Silvano García Blue, a varietal white made from Muscat grapes, and Silvano García Organic Verdejo. The tasting will continue with four DO Jumilla wines made from Monastrell grapes, starting with the Silvano García Pink, a rosé with intense, sweet aromas, and concluding with three reds: 4 Meses, Etiqueta Negra and Crianza. The tasting will be accompanied by cold meats and cheeses, chips, olives…

The experience lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Who it is aimed at

The tour is suitable for all visitors.

Children, pregnant women and those who do not drink alcohol may ask for grape must or water during the wine tasting.

The winery’s facilities are partially accessible, but as some rooms require climbing or descending stairs, it is not possible to visit them in a wheelchair. Other information

The experience is available all year round, except on certain public holidays when the winery is closed. The tour is confirmed subject to a minimum of two participants.

During the tasting, there will be snack options available for those with allergies or food intolerances.

On the day of the experience, you can add extras such as a platter of Iberian cured meats or a cheese platter (price: 14–15 euros) .

Small and medium-sized dogs are welcome. Please note that if any other participants might be bothered by their presence, you will need to carry your dog.

There is free public parking in the vicinity of the winery. It is possible to travel by bus from Murcia; Jumilla bus station is a 10-minute walk away.
