Full description
Did you know that sherry has been delighting palates for over three millennia, ever since the Phoenicians planted the first vines in this region?
Come and enjoy a 1-hour-and-20-minute guided tour of an iconic winery right in the heart of Jerez de la Frontera. You’ll explore its centuries-old rooms alongside one of the winery’s experts, learn about the history of the Marco de Jerez and its unique ageing system, admire a historic collection of 19th-century labels, and taste two of its most award-winning wines accompanied by an appetiser.
An unmissable experience of Andalusian flavour and tradition!
What we will do
We’ll meet 10 minutes early at the entrance to the Cayetano del Pino winery in Jerez de la Frontera. There, we’ll be welcomed by a member of the winery’s team, who’ll guide us through the more than 138 years of living history of this prestigious family-run winery.
We’ll begin the tour by stepping into the ageing cellars, where the high ceilings and the characteristic aroma of oak and aged wine set the tone from the very first moment. As we stroll amongst the rows of casks, we’ll discover what makes the Marco de Jerez so special: the civilisations that left their mark on the area, the influence of the albariza soil, and the grape varieties that bring these world-renowned wines to life. We’ll also stop to admire its unique exhibition of original 19th-century labels, a true visual journey into the winery’s commercial past.
To round off the day, we’ll head to the tasting area to sample two of its most award-winning wines, learning to appreciate their nuances whilst enjoying them with a traditional appetiser. Once the toast is over, we’ll have time to browse the winery shop at our leisure and take home a bottled souvenir if we wish, bringing the tour to a close after a total duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes.
