Ballooning in the surroundings of Montserrat

If flying in a hot air balloon is a magical experience, flying in the mystical surroundings of Montserrat is unforgettable.

The wind will be the only guide on this fascinating journey. You will literally "float" in the air, as if in another dimension, and enjoy the panoramic views: from the characteristic rock formations of the mountains to the pine and holm oak forests, passing through the wheat fields and, if the air currents allow it, the vineyards of the area.

Without straying too far from the city of Barcelona , you can enjoy the rural landscapes of the counties of Bages and Anoia, to the north and south of the Montserrat massif respectively, which will leave you open-mouthed.

What we will do

The meeting point will be in the surroundings of the Montserrat massif and our experience will start shortly after sunrise .

Once gathered at the take-off site, we will attend the inflation of the balloon, which will last about 10 minutes, and the pilot will give us all the necessary information to get into the basket. Once on board we will receive a brief initial talk about how the activity is carried out and what the safety rules are.

Everything will be ready to take off and let yourself be carried away by the air currents in a pleasant flight of approximately one hour. We will enjoy the panoramic views of the surroundings of Montserrat, appreciating both the suggestive rock formations of the massif, which millions of years ago was submerged under the sea, and the surrounding landscapes. Wheat fields, holm oak and pine forests and even vineyards alternate along the route, reaching a maximum altitude of around 1,200 metres.

As tradition dictates, after landing we will drink a glass of Catalan cava at the arrival field. Our pilot will give us a backpack with water, fruit juice and biscuits. In addition, we will also receive our flight certificate, before the organisers take us back to the starting point in a 4x4.

The total duration of the activity is about 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

Ballooning is a very peaceful activity in which anyone from 5 years of age can take part .

The only limitation, for safety reasons, is that pregnant women and people under the influence of alcohol or other narcotic substances are not allowed to fly.

The flight is also accessible to people with reduced mobility. It is possible to inform the organiser in advance if assistance is required, as it is possible to request a hydraulic chair to facilitate access to the basket.

Other information

The activity will be confirmed if weather conditions permit and if a minimum number of 6 participants is reached.

2 days before the flight, the organiser will send you an email with the exact time and place. After confirmation, you will be able to communicate the presence of people with reduced mobility and any food intolerances or allergies.

Free parking is possible at the meeting point. The organiser also offers, on request, an additional shuttle service between the centre of Barcelona and the take-off point.

The basket will have a capacity of between 8 and 16 people and it will not be possible to bring food and/or alcoholic beverages. It is possible to travel with dogs, but it will be necessary to give prior notice so that the welfare of the other participants and the animal itself can be guaranteed.

After the flight, the organiser will send a link to the booking email with photos taken during the experience. It will also be possible to use phones or cameras during the flight.
