Some toasts have more history than others, especially when they are made in an old Civil War shelter.
Enjoy a 2-hour experience in the Penedès where you will discover a family winery devoted to biodynamic viticulture. Walk through high altitude vineyards, explore the underground cellar where the wine rests in the silence of history and enjoy a tasting of 3 wines accompanied by a snack with local products. A unique opportunity to taste the present in a setting that breathes the past.
What we will do
We will meet at the agreed time at the meeting point in Vilobí del Penedès, Barcelona. There we will be warmly welcomed by the Mitjans Nin family, who will open the doors of their home to share their passion. This family is not only the creator of the winery, but also a pioneer in the recovery of agricultural traditions; their legacy is that of a family that decided to save the local history to turn it into the soul of their wines.
We will start the day with a walk through the vineyards, where we will learn first-hand how they take care of the land to achieve that distinctive seal. Walking among the vines, we will discover the secrets of their viticulture and we will understand why respect for the environment is the key to their quality.
The most special moment will come when we descend to the old air raid shelter from the Spanish Civil War. This historic space was rescued from oblivion by the family's ancestors and today is the sanctuary where the most precious bottles of sparkling wine rest. We will feel the peace and history that surrounds every corner as we walk through this emblematic place that breathes memory.
To end the day, we will go to the tasting area to taste 3 selected wines. We will enjoy a Classic Penedès (sparkling wine) and 2 other wines to choose from its range of red and white wines. The tasting will be accompanied by a snack of local cheeses, cold meats and local products, ideal for savouring the essence of the land after 2 hours of an unforgettable experience.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all ages. No prior knowledge is required.
Minors and pregnant women can participate in the visit free of charge, as they will follow the entire historical tour but will not participate in the wine tasting. In both cases, you just need to let the organisers know in advance to coordinate your arrival.
In terms of accessibility, the tasting area is completely wheelchair friendly. However, due to the characteristics of the air-raid shelter and the terrain of the vineyards, the entire tour is not recommended for people with severe reduced mobility. If this is your case, please contact the organisers in advance to arrange an adapted visit.

Pets are only allowed in the outdoor areas and vineyards. Due to health regulations, they are not allowed in the winemaking and tasting areas.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
