A sensory journey to the heart of the land of cava.
Taste the essence of the Penedès through a complete visit to the Rovellats family winery in Sant Martí Sarroca. Visit the vineyard, the modernist garden with a 15th-century farmhouse and family chapel. .. And go 12 metres underground to witness the traditional disgorging of a Gran Reserva in a unique cellar.
To round off the experience, the sommelier will guide you through a tasting of 4 cavas and 4 local cheeses . It will be like a dream among bubbles.
What we will do
Our experience will begin punctually at this winery located in Sant Martí Sarroca, in the province of Barcelona. There we will be welcomed by the sommelier who will guide us through the visit and the tasting.
We will start the visit in the vineyard of more than 50 hectares located in front of the winery. We will be able to learn the details of the first stages of the elaboration of a good cava.
Then we will walk through the modernist garden and visit two historic buildings: the 15th century farmhouse and the family chapel. It will be the moment to learn about the history of this 100% family-run winery and its links with the Penedès region.
Then it's time to go down to the cellar, located 12 metres underground, where the bottles rest during the ageing process. The underground room will surprise us with its unique beauty: a structure in the shape of a six-pointed star with a central rotunda.
Here you will learn how the wines and sparkling wines are made . We will also witness the traditional disgorging of a Gran Reserva aged for more than 36 months , the star of the first tasting.
Back on the surface, we will participate in the guided tasting of 4 cavas:
- Reserva Imperial Rosé Brut
- Reserva Imperial Brut
- Gran Reserva Original Brut Nature
- Gran Reserva Masía Siglo XV Brut Nature
Each of them will be paired with a select km0 artisan cheese. The sommelier will help us to identify aromas, nuances and differences between each reference.
The activity will last approximately 2 hours and a half.
Who it is aimed at
The visit is suitable for all audiences and admission is free for children up to the age of 3.
Children from 4 years of age and pregnant women can take the tour without tasting and will receive water or a soft drink with the aperitif.
The building is not fully accessible, so it is advisable to contact the winery if there are participants with mobility disabilities. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
