Discover a landscape to dip bread in.
Visit the heart of Jaén, with its unique landscape of olive trees, and discover the production process of the "liquid gold" in this guided tour to an olive grove and an olive oil mill.
You will finish the experience feeling like an expert with a tasting of 3 early AOVEs.
What we will do
The appointment will be 10 minutes before the reservation time in Begíjar, very close to Baeza. There we will be met by one of the owners, an expert in olive oil tourism and oil production, who will welcome us and explain how the experience will unfold.
The adventure will start about 2 km from the mill: in front of a sea of olive trees. We will follow the guide in our own car to the field located in Baeza (the road is easily accessible) , to be able to reproduce the complete journey of the olive from the branch to the packaging of the EVOO. There we will be able to enjoy the unique landscape of Jaén and learn about the care and the differences between the olive trees. It will be the perfect opportunity for an introduction to the world of EVOO and to learn more about the history of the area.
Back at the facilities, we will visit the reception courtyards and the olive cleaning and classification area, as well as the old olive mill from 1927. We will then enter the modern plant to see the actual process step by step.
We will close the experience with a guided tasting of 3 early harvest AOVEs:
- the authentic picual from Jaén, with fresh notes of freshly cut grass and tomato plants;
- the frantoio, with hints of dried fruit and apple;
- and the royal changlot, with hints of artichoke and aromatic herbs.
We will learn how to taste them like professionals, identifying the nuances and characteristics of each one.
The visit with tasting will last approximately 3 hours.

Both the olive mill and the surrounding olive grove are accessible to wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments.
Other information
The visit is available all year round and is confirmed when a minimum group of 2 persons is reached.
During the production season, the entire tour is conducted in the same way.
It is possible to do the tour in English or French for an extra charge.
There is also a restaurant at the mill and it is possible to book a tasting lunch with local products (23, 00 euros/person) . The minimum number of guests is 10 and the price is the same. Ask for more information about this extra from the people in charge of the visit. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
There are free parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the mill. The area is not easy to reach by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
