Visit to an oil mill in Jaén and its olive grove with tasting of awarded oils

Because, as with every good bite, it all starts in the field.

What we will do

The meeting time will be 10 minutes before booking time at the olive mill located in Villanueva de la Reina, Jaén. Accompanied by an expert EVOO guide, we will start with a pleasant walk through the olive grove that surrounds the facilities to learn about the cultivation of olives and the beginning of the fruit's journey to our tables.

From the field we will return to the entrance of the oil mill, the point of reception of the fruit that will allow us to follow the process in chronological order. In the audiovisual room we will attend an introduction that will serve as a theoretical basis for understanding the work in the oil mill and the keys to obtaining a product of the highest quality.

We will then enter the heart of the production process. We will visit the modern facilities of one of the most awarded olive oil mills in the world, from cleaning to packaging and storage. We will see step by step how the fruit is transformed into an internationally awarded product with a presence in more than 40 countries.

As a final touch, we will go to the tasting room for a tasting of EVOOs of 4 different varieties: picual, arbequina, hojiblanca and frantoio. In addition, we will discover new nuances with 2 exclusive picual and arbequina jams.

The total duration of the experience will be about 2 hours.

Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The facilities are accessible to people with mobility disabilities. It is necessary to inform the staff in advance of the presence of participants in wheelchairs. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.

Other information

Visits take place throughout the year and are confirmed with the participation of at least 2 adults.

In the event that bad weather does not permit a visit to the olive grove, it will not be necessary to cancel the entire visit. It will be possible to do the tour in the olive mill and the tasting, receiving a partial refund of the amount.

Important! The languages of the visits are as follows:

• Spanish: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
• English: Monday and Wednesday
• French: Friday

After the walk through the olive grove, the group may be joined by other people who will only participate in the visit to the olive mill with tasting.

The tasting will include a tasting of 4 EVOOs made from Picual, Arbequina, Hojiblanca and Frantoio varieties . The tasting includes bread, water, olives and 2 oil jams (picual and arbequina) .

Free parking is available on the premises of the mill itself. It is not possible to reach the area by public transport.
