There are weeks when the city feels too small and your body craves action; luckily, the perfect getaway is just round the corner.
In San Martín de Valdeiglesias, a 3- to 4-hour climbing experience awaits you . You’ll make your way up the granite faces of Cerro Almodón, climbing 250 metres in elevation, and cross a spectacular 15-metre suspension bridge over the San Juan Reservoir. An ideal route for those aged 8 and over, accompanied by qualified mountain guides. Dare to conquer the heights near Madrid!
What we will do
We’ll meet 10 minutes before the scheduled time at the meeting point next to the Virgen de la Nueva chapel, in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Madrid. There we’ll meet our qualified guide, who will welcome us and provide us with all the essential technical equipment: helmet, harness and energy-absorbing lanyards, so we can start the day with complete peace of mind.
Once kitted out, the guide will give us a safety briefing lasting around 15 to 20 minutes to teach us the basic techniques for moving along the route and the correct use of carabiners. We’ll then set off on a 40-minute approach walk through the natural surroundings until we reach the foot of the imposing granite walls of Cerro Almodón.
It’s time to gain some height and put our mettle to the test! We’ll set off on the route for two hours of pure climbing and a sense of freedom high above the San Juan Reservoir. We’ll make our way along a 400-metre-long via ferrata , climbing a vertical drop of 250 metres, and cross a spectacular 15-metre-long suspension bridge at a height of 20 metres, taking in some unforgettable panoramic views.
After reaching the end of the via ferrata and taking in the scenery from above, we’ll set off on the 30-minute descent back to the chapel. There, we’ll take off our climbing gear, share our highlights of the day and say our goodbyes after completing an experience lasting between 3 and 4 hours (including preparations and the approach).
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for children aged 8 and over. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult or have a signed authorisation from a parent or guardian.
The activity is easy and perfect for a first via ferrata. However, it is not suitable for people who suffer from vertigo.
Participants’ weight and height must be provided to the organisers in advance.
It is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Pets are not permitted.

Available all year round, Monday to Sunday, at 10. 00 am.
The tour is confirmed once a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 participants have signed up .
The duration may vary depending on the group’s abilities.
Before the day of the activity, you can agree with the guide whether to take the family route or the sport route (which will incur an additional charge of 10 euros) .
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point is not accessible by public transport, but an optional return transport service from Madrid (Atocha / Plaza de Castilla) can be arranged in advance for a supplement of €20 (advance notice required) . It is also possible to book accommodation in a rural hotel upon request.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
