Full description
A vertical wall, a suspension bridge and views that are worth every metre climbed.
The via ferrata Piedra del Castillo, in Fuertescusa, is the perfect way to get started in vertical progression without giving up the thrill. You will climb a 60-metre wall equipped with clamps, reach a hanging terrace with spectacular views and cross a 30-metre Nepalese bridge with the valley at your feet. All in the safety of being accompanied by a mountain guide.
A simple but impressive route, ideal for your first great adventure at altitude. Do you dare to go vertical?
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Fuertescusa, Cuenca, where we will have to arrive punctually. The mountain guide will be waiting for us there, who will give us the equipment and check that everything is in place before starting the activity.
After an approach walk of about 15 minutes we will arrive at the start of the via ferrata, where we will have a safety briefing before starting the ascent.
The via ferrata Piedra del Castillo is equipped with clamps close to each other, which facilitates the progression and makes it accessible even if you have no experience. The only difficulty will be overcoming our vertigo.
The route climbs diagonally up a 60-metre wall, very vertical, but without technical complications. As we climb, the views of the nearby valleys and mountains will make it all worthwhile. In the middle of the wall a hanging terrace awaits us, one of the most impressive points of the experience.
At the end of the ascent we will cross a spectacular 30-metre Nepalese bridge, the final cherry on top before we start our return, which will take us back to the car park in about 20 minutes.
The total duration of the activity will be approximately 2 and a half hours, with 1.5 hours on the ferrata.
