Forget the conventional tourist routes and experience an authentic expedition in Cabo de Gata on this private route for up to 4 people.
For 2 hours, your group will have an exclusive 4x4 to discover the contrasts of the Coastal Steppe and the Sierra Volcanic Mountains. It is the perfect opportunity to connect with the essence of Almeria in a guided and personalised adventure that will take you through the most impressive corners of the natural park.
What we will do
You will be met 15 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in the port of Carboneras, Almeria. Your guide will be waiting for you there, who will put you in explorer mode while he tells you what to expect and clears up any doubts you may have before starting this private adventure through the most untamed corner of the peninsula.
You will start your adventure in a 4x4 vehicle, heading towards the Mesa Roldán Lighthouse, leaving the asphalt behind to enter dirt tracks that will give you the first great panoramic view of the Playa de los Muertos. You will see the last inhabited lighthouse and the tower that you may recognise from its appearance in the series Game of Thrones, while you discover the stories of this landscape sculpted by time.
You will drive through the old Moorish quarry to Agua Amarga, the pearl of the park. Thanks to the traction of the vehicle on this exclusive route, you will access the ruins of the old mineral loading bay, a historical relic that will allow you to enjoy the best views of the bay while you learn about the mining past of the area.
You will continue the route to the incredible Olive Tree of the Rambla del Cortijo del Médico, a specimen more than 2, 000 years old. You will make a stop to contemplate its immense base and its shade of more than 25 metres, a perfect moment to feel the peace of this millenary environment before heading back.
The route will end back at the starting point after visiting the most spectacular enclaves of this volcanic paradise. In total, it will be about 2 hours of pure exploration, learning and unforgettable landscapes in a private expedition through the most untamed corner of the peninsula.

The route is done in a 4x4 vehicle (Toyota Land Cruiser) always driven by the guide.
If you come with small children, remember to bring your own approved child seat, as the organiser does not have them.
Free parking is available on site. Access by public transport to the meeting point is not recommended.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
