Are you sure you need to get in the water to learn how to surf?
In this surf skate class in Asturias you will learn to move as if you were in the water, but on wheels. You will work on techniques such as pumping, speed control, basic posture and changes of direction, all with qualified instructors who will know how to adapt the session to your level, whether it's your first time or if you want to improve your style.
A fun and effective way to improve your surfing technique... without getting wet.
What we will do
The meeting point is in Naveces, Castrillón, 15 minutes before the booking time. Our instructor will meet us there with the equipment ready: skate and protections. After a brief presentation, we will travel together by van to the place where the activity will take place.
We will start with a brief introduction to explain the basic posture and safety notions. We will then move on to practice, working on pumping to gain speed, skateboard control, changes of direction and improving our posture.
The class will always be supervised by expert instructors, who will adapt the exercises to the level of each participant. Whether it's your first time or you're looking to perfect your technique, you'll leave with new skills to apply to your surf sessions... or your next ride on wheels.
At the end of the lesson, we will return by van. The total duration of the lesson will be 1 hour and a half. The total duration of the activity will be 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable as a first experience of surf skateboarding and is open to participants from the age of 8 years old.
Minors are allowed to participate with an authorisation.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
The instructors are trained to give inclusive lessons for people with disabilities. If you would like to receive more information about this possibility, please contact the surf school, you will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Other information
Classes are held throughout the year and are confirmed with a minimum of 3 participants.
The place where to do the activity will be chosen by the instructor, usually at the Piedras Blancas Sports Centre or at the Niemeyer Cultural Centre in Avilés.
Groups are usually divided into age groups to facilitate learning. Mixed classes for families are available on request.
Accompanying persons who do not participate in the class may attend the class, but they will have to travel at their own expense.
At the surf school facilities, at the meeting point, there are changing rooms and showers with hot water.
There is free parking at the meeting point, but it is not possible to get there by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
