Full description
What if you swapped the usual terrace for a salt floor overlooking the spectacular Laguna Rosa?
Come and discover a setting so unique that it has captivated the whole world. Enjoy a cultural walking tour lasting between 90 and 120 minutes through the Torrevieja Salt Flats, where you’ll learn how this historic industry works, spot flamingos in the wild beside the iconic strawberry-coloured waters, and toast the sunset with a glass of cava. An ideal experience to connect with nature and enjoy a sunset with a difference in Alicante.
What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before the start time at the entrance to the Torrevieja Salt Flats in Alicante. Once the group has gathered, our guide will welcome us, grant us access to the industrial site, and we’ll set off on this fascinating cultural walking tour through a protected area that is usually off-limits.
We’ll walk along dirt tracks surrounded by a fascinating ecosystem. Throughout the walk, the guide will explain in detail how the historic salt industry works and reveal how the high salinity and microorganisms in the water create that unmistakable and striking pink hue. If we look closely, we’ll spot partridges resting , elegant flamingos and other birds that are regular inhabitants of the lagoon.
We’ll make our way between gigantic white mountains of salt and pink salt flats until we reach the tourist area, the perfect spot for the highlight of the afternoon. There, we’ll stop to watch the sun set, whilst toasting the experience with a refreshing glass of cava (or water for those under 18), surrounded by the sounds and tranquillity of the local wildlife.
Finally, we’ll set off on the return journey to the starting point, having completed an unforgettable scenic route lasting between 90 and 120 minutes in total, in close contact with nature.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is run on a shared basis and is recommended for participants aged 18 and over.
Minors are welcome ( they will be offered water instead) , but it is essential to notify the organisers in advance of their participation and they must be accompanied by an adult.
As we will be walking more than 3 kilometres (there and back) over rough, unpaved terrain, this activity is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
As this is an active food production facility and a protected natural area, pets are not permitted.

The tour requires a minimum of 5 participants to go ahead and has a maximum of 50 people.
