Sunset catamaran trip with cetacean watching in Lanzarote

Enjoy this 2. 5 hour catamaran tour at sunset from Puerto Calero. You will sail in a sustainable and silent way in a respectful boat to observe cetaceans in Lanzarote, while the sun approaches the horizon and the last rays of the sun create a magical atmosphere.

What we will do

The meeting point in Puerto Calero will be about 10 minutes before departure. There we will be met by the crew, who will give us a brief introduction before boarding La Santa María, a sailing catamaran with an electric motor, unique in Europe for its emission-free and noise-free navigation.

We will then cast off, while the guide will explain the areas where there are usually sightings with the help of a map. Depending on the wind conditions, the state of the sea and the location of the cetaceans at that precise moment, we will adapt our itinerary.

We will enjoy sailing in one of the most diverse marine areas of the Canary Islands to observe whales and dolphins in a respectful way. It will be a complete experience in which the guide will explain the behaviour of the cetaceans while we observe and listen to them thanks to the 360º camera and the hydrophone on the boat.

The light of the sunset will help to create a unique scene in which we can be surprised by bottlenose dolphins, spotted dolphins, pilot whales and even imposing sperm whales playing in the water.

In addition, the trip will go beyond simple sightings: we will actively participate in the conservation of the environment, helping to collect plastic from the sea, and our photos may become part of a research project and identification of specimens.

To round off the day, we will enjoy snacks and drinks such as local juices, organic soft drinks and beer on board. We will return to port with the last light of day after an unforgettable experience in tune with the ocean.

The experience is suitable for all ages.

Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult .

Access to the boat is not adapted, but people with motor disabilities may board with assistance. It is advisable to inform the crew in advance if you have mobility problems; you will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.

Other information

It is possible to participate in the experience all year round and the departure is confirmed when a minimum group of 4 people is reached.

You will sail aboard the catamaran La Santa María, a sailing boat with a 100% electric and silent engine, the first of its kind in Europe for whale and dolphin watching. It is an emission-free vessel that generates no environmental pollutants. It is equipped with a hydrophone and 360º camera, guaranteeing the best possible experience during whale watching.

The activity is dog-friendly, as long as the pet is used to doing activities with its owners and taking into account that this is a tour in which people from other groups may participate.

It is not possible to swim in the sea during the tour.

There is free parking very close to the boarding area. There is also a bus stop about 10 minutes walk away.

*The organiser of the experience will donate 7. 5% of the net proceeds to support the cetacean protection work carried out by the WeWhale Association.
