Come and discover the magic that is created when a river hides under the mountains.
Enjoy an aquatic caving experience in the Matienzo Valley, an experience of pure refreshing exploration. It is the ideal activity for the whole family, combining fun and geology in one of the most unique caves in Cantabria.

What we will do
The guide will meet us punctually at the meeting point in Matienzo, Cantabria. After an introduction to the activity and equipping us with a helmet with headlamp and wetsuit, we will start a short approach along an easy path that will take us directly to the access to the El Molino cave.
It will be time to go deep into the bowels of the earth with an exciting caving and canyoning adventure. We will explore the enormous galleries of the cave, walking between impressive columns and lava flows several metres high. We will enjoy the unique environment of this karstic valley and we will advance along the riverbed that goes deep into the mountain.
We will spend about 2 and a half hours inside the cave, marvelling at its unique geology. Finally, we will return by the same access to walk the path back to the starting point.
The whole experience will take about 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
No experience is necessary and you can participate from the age of 5 years old.
It is necessary to know how to swim.
Minors under 12 years of age must be accompanied. From 13 years of age it is sufficient to present the signed authorisation of a legal guardian.
The cave is horizontal and has fairly large rooms, so it should not be a problem for people with vertigo or claustrophobia.
It is not accessible for people with motor disabilities.
The experience is not recommended for pregnant women.
If you have any doubts about the suitability of the activity, please consult your doctor.
Other information
The activity is available from Easter until 30 September and is confirmed when a minimum group of 4 people is reached.
Please note that the guide will meet you in the cave area, so there are no changing rooms or lockers available. If necessary, you will be able to use the guide's van for support.
Accompanying persons not participating can wait in a bar near the meeting point or accompany the group to the entrance of the cave and take a walk in the surrounding area (the area is also accessible for pets) .
At the end of the activity, the guide will send you any photos or videos taken. You can also use a helmet with a GoPro mount if you want to bring your own camera.
Free parking is available near the meeting point. It is not possible to reach the area by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
