Full description
To really experience the mountain, you have to spend a night in a mountain hut.
Walk with snowshoes through valleys and snowy forests in the Girona Pyrenees accompanied by a mountain guide. When evening falls, a home-cooked dinner and a night in the silence of the mountain will be waiting for you. In the morning, breakfast and a new route in the most authentic nature.
A weekend to disconnect from the world and find yourself again. Forget about everything, just enjoy.
What we will do
The meeting point in the Girona Pyrenees, in the Vall de Ribes or Vall de Núria area, depending on the snow and weather conditions, is at around 10 am. There we will be met by the mountain guide, who will explain how the activity will be carried out and help us to equip ourselves with snowshoes and poles before starting the route.
After about 30 minutes of briefing and preparation, we'll start the route calmly, advancing between snowy forests and white valleys of the Parc Natural de les Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser. We will make stops to rest, recharge our batteries with the picnic we have prepared, enjoy the scenery and get to know the surroundings better.
After about 4 hours we will arrive at the mountain refuge, located at an altitude of 2, 000 metres . Once there, we can choose to relax for a few hours or accompany the guide on a short hike in the surrounding area before nightfall. In the evening, a home-cooked dinner awaits us at the refuge, ideal for recovering our strength and enjoying the warm and cosy atmosphere of the high mountain.
The second day will begin with breakfast before we start our return journey. With our batteries recharged, we will put our snowshoes back on, grab our poles and set off on our return journey. Without rushing, enjoying the magic of the Pyrenean winter, our second picnic surrounded by a white blanket and listening to the guide's stories for another 4 hours of hiking.
We will conclude the experience around 2 pm. It will be an unforgettable adventure between snow, calm and nature.
Who it is aimed at
No experience is necessary and children from the age of 6 can participate.
Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
It is not recommended for pregnant women and people who have recently suffered injuries.
Not accessible for people with motor disabilities.
Other information
The activity is available from December to March. Please note that this is a weather-dependent experience and may be subject to variations.
The exact meeting point will be decided by the guide depending on the snow conditions. The hut may also change depending on the area chosen.
Important: you will have to bring 2 picnics or 1 picnic and cash to buy the second one at the hut. It will not be possible to pay at the refuge by credit card. Dinner and breakfast are included.
You can also participate with your dog.
If you do not have waterproof hiking boots suitable for the activity, please contact your guide to bring a pair of your size. You can also rent a sleeping bag (extra cost of 15 euros) . You will receive contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Free parking is available near the meeting point. It is not possible to reach the area by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
