When everything is covered in white, the Pyrenees become a magical place.
This snowshoeing excursion in the Somport area will allow you to discover the wonders of winter. The guide will define the route according to the snow and the weather, so that nothing spoils an extraordinary moment. The Aragon valley or the lakes of Escalar and Estanés are some of the possible options.

What we will do
The appointment will be at the agreed time at the meeting point in Canfranc-Estación, where we will meet the guide.
From there we will travel in our private cars to the car park closest to the start of the route which, to guarantee the best possible experience, will vary depending on the snow and weather conditions.
Once at the starting point, we will equip ourselves with snowshoes and poles and receive a brief safety briefing before starting the adventure. The route will be adapted to the group and can take us through such special places in the Pyrenees as the Aragón valley, the Ibón de Escalar or the Ibón de Estanés. With a gentle slope, a maximum of 300 metres, the walk will be accessible and perfect to enjoy without haste.
We will walk on the snow in silence, surrounded by white mountains and forests covered by a winter blanket. The guide will share interesting facts about the environment and there will be stops to rest, contemplate the landscape or simply let yourself be enveloped by the calm and beauty of the snowy Pyrenees.
The whole experience will last approximately 4 hours, of which 3 hours will be spent walking.
Who it is aimed at
The route is suitable as a first experience with snowshoes and can be done from 10 years of age.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women and is not accessible for people with motor disabilities. If you have any doubts about the suitability of the route, we advise you to consult your doctor.
Other information
The activity is available from December to March.
The route may change and will be decided the days before depending on the weather and the amount of snow.
There are no changing rooms or lockers in which to leave valuables, which you will have to leave in the car.
Accompanying persons who do not participate can wait at the starting point of the route, which is usually near a ski resort or mountain village.
The photo/video service can be arranged directly with the guide with prior notice.
Important: not all routes are suitable for dogs, you will have to check with the guide the day before if it will be a pet-friendly route . You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Free parking is available in the area. It is not possible to get there by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
