Snowmobile tour from Baqueira-Beret to Montgarri with the option of lunch or dinner

Who said the winter chill was a reason to stay on the sofa?

This 30-minute snowmobile tour will take you on an exploration of Plà de Beret and the historic surroundings of Montgarri, taking in the most spectacular landscapes of the Upper Aran. At the controls of the snowmobile, you’ll traverse icy tracks and Pyrenean forests whilst feeling the adrenaline rush in the heart of nature.

What we will do

The guide will meet us at the meeting point at Plà de Beret about 10 minutes before the time specified in the booking. As soon as the group has gathered, we’ll move on to allocating the snowmobiles and going through how to operate them during a brief introductory talk.

Once we’ve got the basics down and had a first go at handling the snowmobile, we’ll be ready to set off. We’ll set off in single file, following in our guide’s tracks.

During the 30-minute snowmobile ride, we’ll make our way through the stunning landscapes leading to the historic surroundings of Montgarri, enjoying the thrill of riding on snow. Travelling through the heart of the Upper Aran at the controls of a snowmobile offers a unique contrast: a touch of adrenaline alongside the awe-inspiring silence of the frozen Pyrenean forests.

If you choose the option including lunch or dinner, we’ll stop for a couple of hours to enjoy a full meal prepared with produce from the Aran Valley. With our batteries fully recharged, we’ll set off on the second part of the journey back to the starting point to bring the experience to a close.

The snowmobile activity (without lunch or dinner) will last approximately 1 hour in total.

Who it is aimed at

No experience is required. You must be of legal age to ride the motorbike.

To ride as a passenger, the minimum age is 4 years. If children are taking part, they must always be accompanied by a responsible adult, and you must inform the guide in advance of their age and height (the guide will assess whether it is safer for them to ride between two adults on a two-seater motorbike) . You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.

This activity is not recommended for pregnant women or people with any kind of injury. Participation is at your own risk.

The experience is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Other information

The experience is subject to snow levels and trail conditions; the season usually runs from late November to early April.

The trip is confirmed even if there is only one snowmobile.

The departure time may change, so it is necessary to confirm this in advance with the guide. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.

At certain times, it is possible to combine the experience with a full set menu lunch or dinner made with produce from the Aran Valley for €57 per adult and €20 per child ( minimum 2 people) . Select the ‘mushing + lunch or dinner’ option when booking; the additional charge must be paid on the day of the activity at the restaurant itself. The menu consists of:

• First course for adults: a choice between a Pyrenean platter (Montgarri pâté, cured meats, cheese and duck) or Aranese stew (with vegetables, pulses and meat) . First course for children: pasta in broth.
• Main course for adults: a choice between a 1 kg matured beef steak or a grilled platter of steak and duck breast. Main course for children: sausage with chips.
• Dessert: artisan yoghurt from the Aran Valley
• Toast and drinks (adults: white wine, red wine, rosé, cava, cider / children: soft drink or juice)

Free parking is available at the meeting point. We cannot guarantee that the area is served by public transport.
