Half-day or full-day self-guided kayaking trip through the Hoces del Duratón

Choose between 4 or 9 hours of pure disconnection and paddle through the Duratón Gorges from San Miguel de Bernuy. You set the pace on a free route, without currents and surrounded by the most spectacular canyons of Segovia. What we will do

Our adventure starts 10 minutes before the agreed time at the jetty in San Miguel de Bernuy, just over an hour from Madrid, where we will equip ourselves with everything we need to take to the water. Forget about guides marking your pace or groups rushing you; here we are the captains. Once we push the kayak into the river, we will find calm, crystal clear waters, with no currents or waves to complicate our day.

As we begin to paddle through the northern part of the Hoces del Duratón, the imposing canyons will begin to rise up beside us, giving us a landscape that is only accessible if you are on board a kayak. It is an incredible sensation to look up and see how the griffon vultures, which have their largest colony in Europe, glide right over our heads, watching our movements from their nests in the rocks. As this is a free route, the plan is up to us: we can put our arms in the air to explore every nook and cranny or simply let ourselves go while we enjoy the absolute silence of the canyon.

The best thing is that we have between 4 and 9 hours (depending on the option chosen when booking) to lose ourselves in the approximately 6 kilometres of this natural paradise. If you feel like a dip, all you have to do is take the kayak to one of the banks or beaches that you will come across and jump into the water to cool off at your leisure. At the end, after a day of total disconnection, we will return to the San Miguel de Bernuy pier to take a shower in the facilities and leave with the sensation of having discovered the wildest heart of Segovia.

Who it is aimed at

This experience is suitable for all levels and ages from 3 years old.

Minors can sail if they are accompanied or bring a signed authorisation.

The use of a life jacket is compulsory for all participants. It is not essential to know how to swim to enjoy the route.

Pets are welcome on board.

For participants with reduced mobility, prior consultation with the organisers is recommended due to the characteristics of the natural access to the water in the Duratón.

The activity is available every day of the year.

You can choose between 4 hours (half day) or 9 hours (full day) of totally free navigation during the booking.

The service hours are from 11: 00 to 20: 00, being this the latest time to be back at the pier.

The meeting point has free parking in San Miguel de Bernuy. It is not recommended to come by public transport.

Children under 7 years old are free.
