This kayak route around Cabo de Gata is a total immersion in the wild beauty of the natural park. You'll paddle alongside whimsical formations, listen to stories of the environment and explore what lies beneath the surface with a snorkelling session.
Three hours to connect with the landscape and the sea. Are you up for a 360-degree discovery of the Cape?
What we will do
The meeting point will be at the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, 20 minutes before the start of the activity. There we will be met by the instructor with all the necessary equipment for the route.
We will walk together to the beach, where we will attend an initial briefing and we will have a practical lesson of about 15 minutes to familiarise ourselves with the paddles and the handling of the kayak, first on the sand and then in the water.
Once on board our kayaks, we will be ready to enter the waters of paradise. We will paddle for about an hour along the spectacular volcanic coastline of Cabo de Gata. But take it easy, this is not a competition. We will make short stops to rest and learn about the geology, the marine fauna and the history of the place. We will be able to see sea caves, fossil reefs and cliffs of capricious shapes as we advance through calm and crystalline waters.
Halfway along the route, we will stop for about 30 minutes for a swim and snorkelling. The exact spot may vary depending on the wind, but it will always be a sheltered spot with good visibility. Depending on the time of year and our skills, we will be able to see different species of fish, starfish and even octopus.
We will then return to the starting point. We will paddle for another 45 minutes, again in peace and quiet, enjoying the surroundings and making short stops. In total we will cover approximately 5 km.
The activity will last a total of 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The route is suitable for everyone. Given the type of activity, it is necessary to be able to paddle independently throughout the experience.
Children can participate from the age of 2 years old. Minors who cannot handle a kayak will be accompanied by 2 adults. In any case, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
It is compulsory to know how to swim.
The maximum weight per kayak is 260 kg.
It is not recommended for pregnant women and people with back injuries, motor disabilities or problems that prevent them from being autonomous during the whole route. If you have any doubts about the suitability of the activity, consult a doctor.

The activity takes place from Easter to 12 October and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
*Important: it will not be possible to choose the route, which will be decided depending on the wind and swell. Themeeting point will be confirmed the day before. Possible routes are:
- Las Negras - El Playazo
- La Fabriquilla - Mermaids Reef
- Agua Amarga - Punta de la Media Naranja
- Los Escullos - Punta de Loma Pelada
- San José - Tomate Cove
There are 12 kayaks available . Each kayak can carry 2/3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. There are no individual kayaks.
You will be in a natural environment where there are no toilets or changing areas. We advise you not to take any valuables with you, which you will have to leave in the car. The organisers of the activity will be able to keep the car keys if you wish.
It is possible to bring dogs, but you will have to inform the organiser of their presence beforehand. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
During the activity photos and videos will be taken and can be downloaded online.
Free parking is possible at the meeting point. It is not possible to arrive by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
