Kayak tour, snorkelling, caving... Having trouble deciding? The excursion to the Cova dels Coloms is the answer.
Forget about everything and enjoy a genuine contact with nature. You'll discover places accessible only from the water, you'll be amazed by the imposing cliff face at Morro de Toix and you'll be able to explore the inside of the cave with an expert monitor.
Choose the calm of paddling and swimming in hidden corners of the coast of Altea, but with a touch of adventure.
What we will do
Our appointment will be at the north beach of Mascarat in Altea. The monitors will meet us 10 minutes before the start time of the route to prepare the departure.
We will dedicate the first few minutes to a talk on technical and safety notions. They will explain, among other things, how to get in and out of the kayak or what to do if we fall. Once we are ready, we will start paddling towards the cave.
It will take us about 30 minutes to reach the Cova dels Coloms. It will be a peaceful stretch that will allow us to see some of the most beautiful coves in the area and corners that are only accessible from the water. As we get closer to the cave, we will be surprised by the impressive cliff of Morro de Toix, the point that separates Altea from the coast of Calpe.
At the entrance to the cave we will jump into the water to get out of the kayaks and our instructor will tie them up before we enter, equipped with our helmets and torches and following the natural steps in the rock. We will spend another 30 minutes on the tour, where we will be shown the numerous tunnels and rooms that extend under the cliff and the spectacular underground spring. We will be surprised by the calmness of this magical atmosphere and the silence, interrupted only by the sound of the water.
To get out of the cave we will have to jump one by one into the water. It will be a very accessible and simple jump, 1 metre high. Depending on the water conditions we can snorkel and explore the marine flora and fauna near the cliff or stop in a quiet cove on the way back to the beach. This is the perfect end to a circular tour full of new experiences and discoveries.
The route will have a total duration of 2.5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to children from 7 years of age and minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Pregnant women are not allowed to participate .
No particular physical preparation is required. It is not necessary to know how to swim, but it is necessary to know how to move in the water and feel comfortable in aquatic environments.
People weighing more than 100 kg and/or over 1.90 m tall , as well as participants with any kind of pathology, must inform the organisers so that they can adapt the activity if they consider it necessary.
Other information
The activity runs from March to October and will be confirmed if a minimum of 2 participants is reached.
There is free parking at the starting point and the route is circular, so you will return to the starting point.
You can leave a rucksack with dry clothes and a towel in the organisers' van.
It is advisable to leave your phone on the ground. At the end of the activity you will receive the photos taken during the route.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
