Guided kayak route on the river Tormes in Salamanca

Forget boring river trips; here we come to conquer dams, jump into the water and slide down rapids in an authentic canoeing adventure!

Enjoy a 2-hour experience through the most spectacular landscapes of Ledesma. On this route along the Tormes River, you will navigate under historic bridges and cross dams of old mills that become real water slides. It is the ideal plan to combine sport and adrenaline, surrounded by wild nature and with the possibility of taking a dip in freshwater beaches along the way.

What we will do

We will meet the organisers at the agreed time at the meeting point in Ledesma, where we will be welcomed and equipped for the adventure. After a brief briefing to learn how to handle the double canoes and the safety rules, we will take to the water to begin our journey.

Once on the river, the real magic will begin: the murmur of the water and the pulse of nature will envelop us as we pass under historic bridges. We will see the local wildlife, from majestic waterfowl to cows grazing peacefully on the shore, enjoying an environment that seems frozen in time.

The moment of maximum excitement will come when we reach the dam of an old mill. There we will get out of the canoes to do a short stretch on foot and, on the way back, we will get ready for the big rush: we will slide down the dam as if it were a natural toboggan. It's a shallow, laughter-filled, shallow drop of less than 2 metres, designed to get the adrenaline pumping.

During the rest of the tour, we will enjoy the peace of the Tormes river while we contemplate the silhouette of the historic centre of Ledesma from a privileged perspective. We will return to the starting point with renewed energy after completing this 2-hour experience.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is suitable for beginners and profiles of all levels. No previous experience is required.

The minimum age is 6 years old. Children under the age of 14 must always be accompanied by an adult, while young people between 14 and 30 have a reduced rate.

It is not strictly necessary to know how to swim, as the activity is carried out with life jackets and helmets (optional) at all times.

The experience is suitable for people with reduced mobility or in wheelchairs, although you should contact the organisers in advance to adapt the route.

In the case of pregnant women, we recommend that you consult your doctor beforehand.

Other information

The activity is available from April to October. During July and August , departures are daily; during the rest of the season, departures are on weekends.

Free parking is available on site. The use of your own vehicle is recommended due to the infrequency of public transport.

The boats are double canoes.

The activity is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 12 per group.

The organisers have a container available as a changing room and a basic shower (no hot water) . There are also public toilets available in the area.

Upon request, the organisers can take photographs of the experience.

Pets are allowed to participate (no specific waistcoat available) .

Accompanying persons can wait at the meeting point.
