Buggy route through Gordón and the Casares de Arbas Reservoir in León

Live a complete 4-hour experience that will take you from Gordón to the spectacular Casares de Arbas reservoir. You will pilot your tandem buggy crossing from one valley to another, enjoying the contrast between the lush forests and the pre-Pyrenean landscapes of the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve.

What we will do

Our expedition starts in Paradilla de Gordón in León, where we will meet 10 minutes before the booking time. After a brief check-in and a talk about the jewel in which we find ourselves, the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve, we will familiarise ourselves with the controls of our two-seater buggies. Once we fit our helmets and check that everything is ready, we will start our engines to leave civilisation behind and head out into the wilderness.

The real journey begins when the tarmac gives way to mountain tracks. We will feel the power of the buggies as we ascend to cross from one valley to another, a magical moment where we will witness a radical change in the ecosystem: from the lush and closed forests of Gordón we will pass to the immensity of a pre-Pyrenean landscape, more open and rugged . It is an impressive visual transition that will make us feel in the purest heart of León.

One of the key points of our route will come when we reach the Casares de Arbas reservoir. We will border together this giant of crystalline water, a place of great scenic beauty where the mountains are reflected on the surface. In this section we will combine tracks with panoramic secondary roads (approximately 50% of the route) , which will allow us to enjoy a fluid driving with brutal views of the reservoir from angles that will leave you speechless.

In total, between preparations and route we will experience approximately 4 hours of an expedition that perfectly mixes adrenaline, postcard landscapes and authentic flavour.

Who it is aimed at

The driver must be at least 25 years old and in possession of a category B driving licence valid in Spain.

The passenger must be at least 4 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The experience is easy and suitable even for first time buggy riders.

The activity is not recommended for pregnant women.

Due to the characteristics of the terrain and the vehicle, the route is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

Other information

The experience takes place in spring, summer and autumn (not available in winter) . From May to September it is available every day and the rest of the year at weekends.

During the tour, driver and passenger can take turns driving, as long as both are at least 25 years old and have a driving licence.

Free parking is available in the area . The meeting point is not accessible by public transport.

The route is always on public roads and never off-road, as we are in an area with protected species within the Biosphere Reserve.

The organisers have 4 two-seater buggies available. If you are a group of 3 people, one of you can participate paying half price, going with the guide and taking turns with the rest of the group to drive during the route. To arrange this option, just contact our customer service.
