Route of the Ports by buggy through the Alto Bernesga Reserve

Experience 2 hours of pure adrenaline on the Ruta de los Puertos through the Alto Bernesga Reserve. You will pilot your two-seater buggy over viewpoints with brutal panoramic views of the Gordón Valley and the Arbas reservoir, discovering dry lakes and trenches in a customisable adventure through the peaks of León.

What we will do

We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Paradilla de Gordón, León. The guide will meet us there to check us in and give us an introductory talk about the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve. After familiarising ourselves with the handling of the buggy and the safety rules, we will head for the heights.

We will start the ascent from Paradilla until we reach a mountain refuge, from where the perspective of the landscape changes completely. This route is fully customisable: we can explore the area of the dry lakes or head towards the natural viewpoints to contemplate the Gordón Valley and the Arbas Valley with its reservoir in the background. It is a visually stunning experience where the immensity of the mountains will be our travelling companion.

One of the highlights is the visit to the trenches of the Civil War, a piece of history located in a privileged environment that we can get to know closely. If you wish, there is the option of adding a typical lunch (with a supplement of €20) to replenish your strength. In this case, the activity would be extended for an extra hour to enjoy the lunch without rushing and outside the driving time.

We will finish the tour returning to Paradilla after having negotiated slopes and enjoyed a technical and fun drive. In total, we will live approximately 2 hours of off-road experience (or 3 hours if you choose lunch), adapting the pace and the stops to what you feel like discovering at each moment.

Who it is aimed at

The driver must be at least 25 years old and in possession of a category B driving licence valid in Spain.

The passenger must be at least 4 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The experience is easy and suitable even for first time buggy riders.

The activity is not recommended for pregnant women.

Due to the characteristics of the terrain and the vehicle, the route is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

Other information

The experience takes place in spring, summer and autumn (not available in winter) . From May to September it is available every day and the rest of the year at weekends.

During the tour, driver and passenger can take turns driving, as long as both are at least 25 years old and have a driving licence.

Free parking is available in the area . The meeting point is not accessible by public transport.

If you wish to include the optional lunch (€20), you must let the organisers know in advance so that everything is ready. This option adds 1 extra hour to the total duration. You will receive the contact details in the confirmation email.

The route is always on public roads and never off-road, as we are in an area with protected species within the Biosphere Reserve.

The organisers have 4 two-seater buggies available. If you are a group of 3 people, one of you can participate paying half price, going with the guide and taking turns with the rest of the group to drive during the route. To arrange this option, just contact our customer service.
