Solana Route by buggy through the Alto Bernesga Reserve

If your current car shakes when it sees a stone, it's time to try a vehicle that laughs at potholes.

Experience 1 hour of pure adrenaline driving the Solana Route in the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve. Drive your two-seater buggy through beech and oak forests, overcoming steep slopes with views of the Leonese mountains from Gordón to Aralla de Luna. An experience to connect with the wild nature of León.

What we will do

We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Paradilla de Gordón, León. The guide will meet us there to check us in and we will start with a short introduction about the privileged environment where we are: the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve. Before setting off, we will receive training on how to drive the two-seater buggy and the safety rules to make the route as safe as it is exciting.

With helmets on, the adventure begins! We will start the Ruta de la Solana, a circular route that runs entirely on public roads and tracks. We will go through beech and oak woods, feeling how the buggy adapts to the terrain as we leave the asphalt behind to enter the most authentic part of the Leonese mountains.

Along the way, we will make 2 or 3 stops at strategic points to enjoy the surroundings. From these natural balconies, we will observe the landscape that stretches from the area of Gordón to Aralla de Luna. This is the perfect moment to stretch our legs, change drivers if we wish and capture the immensity of the surrounding peaks with our cameras.

We will continue the descent and the final stretch of the route, negotiating the unevenness of the mountainous terrain. Driving on protected roads, we will enjoy the local biodiversity with total respect, always maintaining the adrenaline of off-road driving until we return to the starting point.

In total, with the preparations included, we will live approximately 1 hour of experience. A total immersion in the wild nature of León, perfect to disconnect and feel the power of the engine in every bump.

Who it is aimed at

The driver must be at least 25 years old and in possession of a category B driving licence valid in Spain.

The passenger must be at least 4 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The experience is easy and suitable even for first time buggy riders.

The activity is not recommended for pregnant women.

Due to the characteristics of the terrain and the vehicle, the route is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

Other information

The experience is especially designed for winter, but is available all year round. From May to September it is available every day and the rest of the year only at weekends.

During the tour, driver and passenger can take turns driving, as long as both are at least 25 years old and have a driving licence.

Free parking is available in the area . The meeting point is not accessible by public transport.

The route is always on public roads and never off-road, as we are in an area with protected species within the Biosphere Reserve.

The organisers have 4 two-seater buggies available. If you are a group of 3 people, one of you can participate paying half price, going with the guide and taking turns with the rest of the group to drive during the route. To arrange this option, just contact our customer service.
