Full description
There are many ways to beat boredom, but few involve gliding along the current of the River Segura whilst dodging splashes and laughing your head off.
Get ready for an exhilarating rafting trip lasting between three and a half and four hours in total, covering a dynamic 14-kilometre route linking Cieza with Blanca. On this shared adventure, accompanied by a qualified guide, you’ll tackle exciting rapids, sections with river slides and stretches of calm water perfect for a refreshing dip as a team. All this includes photos of the experience, a quick introductory briefing, minibus transfers, and a hearty picnic halfway through the trip.
What we will do
We’ll meet at the agreed time at the meeting point in Blanca, Murcia. We’ll be welcomed there and, after a quick check-in, we’ll board the organisers’ minibuses to travel upstream to the starting point in Cieza.
We’ll take part in a quick briefing on the riverbank led by our qualified guides. During this fun introductory session, we’ll learn the basics of handling the rafts, synchronising our paddles and the essential safety rules to ensure the descent is comfortable, safe and thoroughly enjoyable.
We’ll set off in 12-seater rafts, each accompanied by an instructor. During the two-and-a-half hours of actual rafting, we’ll paddle as a team, navigating sections of thrilling rapids and adrenaline-fuelled slides. Along the way, we’ll take in spectacular scenery such as the iconic La Atalaya mountain and the castle in Cieza, or the stately El Menju estate in Abarán with its unique vegetation. Halfway through the journey, we’ll stop for a break at El Jarral to recharge our batteries with a picnic of sandwiches made with homemade bread from the Ricote Valley and an all-you-can-drink selection of beverages. The more daring among us can try out the river’s steepest slide or take a refreshing dip in calmer stretches.
We’ll round off the adventure in Blanca, taking in the view of its ancient castle and lovely river beach. We’ll disembark directly at the base, where changing rooms and hot showers will be at our complete disposal, as well as a café where we can chat about the highlights before saying our goodbyes.
