Intermediate-level rafting in the Alto Tajo Natural Park, Guadalajara

Feel the power of the Alto Tajo!

Take on the challenge and conquer the most demanding stretch of rafting in the Alto Tajo Natural Park, starting from Zaorejas. For over two hours, you’ll paddle through deep gorges and navigate rapids aboard an inflatable raft led by an expert guide.

Make sure your helmet is securely fastened – the adventure is about to begin.

What we will do

We’ll meet at the meeting point in Zaorejas, where the guides will be waiting for us on time . There, we can organise car journeys to make it easier to get back once the descent is over.

Next, we’ll be issued with our individual kit, consisting of a helmet, wetsuit, life jacket and paddle. This will be the time to listen carefully to the instructions from the guide who will be leading our raft; they’ll explain both the safety rules and paddling techniques, and answer any questions before we head out onto the water.

We’ll board the inflatable raft in a quiet area to get a feel for the river before venturing into the most challenging stretch of the Upper Tagus. During the river journey, led at all times by our guide, we’ll face powerful rapids that will demand maximum coordination and teamwork. Fun is guaranteed as we battle against the current.

We’ll alternate between the most technical and intense sections and brief moments of calm to admire the stunning mountain scenery around us. The descent through deep canyons in the heart of nature will last between 2 and 3 hours, depending on our pace and the strength of the river.

At the end of the trip, we’ll return by car to the starting point. The activity will last a total of between 3 and 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

No previous rafting experience is required .

You can take part from the age of 12–14, depending on the river’s flow. Please contact the guide shortly beforehand for further information; you’ll receive their contact details in your booking confirmation email.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult .

You must be able to swim.

This activity is not suitable for pregnant women or people with mobility impairments.

It is important to refrain from taking part if you have any medical conditions or injuries that may prevent you from doing so. Participants must inform the guide of any medical conditions, allergies or phobias.

Other information

The activity is available from March to May. The trip is confirmed once a minimum group of 4 people has been reached .

Each raft can carry a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people.

Please note that the meeting point is at the start of the activity and that there are no changing rooms, showers or lockers available.

At the end of the descent there is a swimming area where accompanying guests not taking part in the activity can wait. The area is pet-friendly.

There is free parking at the meeting point. It is not possible to reach the area by public transport.
