Have you ever tried walking on water? OK, we're not magicians, but we assure you that gliding over a wave is the closest thing to having superpowers.
Dare with this private surfing initiation class in the south of Tenerife. You will learn to interpret the currents and master your balance on the board in the best area for beginners in Playa de las Américas. A two and a half hour experience where the Atlantic will become your best ally.

What we will do
The meeting point in Playa de las Américas, in the south of Tenerife, is 15 minutes before your booking time. There you will be met by your instructor, who will give you some free time to get ready in the changing room before moving on to the terrace of the surf school, where you will have a theoretical introduction of about 30 minutes.
After a full briefing, during which the characteristics of the coast will be discussed and you'll learn how to interpret the currents, you'll head down to the sand. A warm-up session will prepare you to face the fundamental techniques: the rhythm of a fluid paddle, the 4 key steps of a perfect pop-up and the secrets to chain the movements and stand up on the board.
A bit of practice on the sand and? In the water, ducks! Then it's time to put what you've learnt into practice. The instructor will accompany you at all times, watching you closely and guiding you so that you can ride your first waves.
Back on the sand, a short stretching session will help you recover before returning to the school for a refreshing shower. But, if you still have some energy left, you will have an extra hour of equipment rental to continue practising on your own.
The activity will last approximately 2 and a half hours (not counting the extra hour of rental) , of which 2 hours will be the lesson.
Who it is aimed at
This is a beginners' class and no surfing experience is necessary.
Children from the age of 5 years old can participate . Children must be accompanied by a legal guardian at the surf school .
It is necessary to know how to swim or at least feel comfortable in the water.
The activity is not recommended for pregnant women.
It is possible to adapt the class for people with disabilities.
Please contact the instructor 72 hours in advance if there are children under 15 or people with disabilities. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.

Classes are available all year round.
Please note: there are usually 2 classes per day, but the timetable depends on the tides .Check the calendar for the available time slots on each date.
The class includes 1 hour of equipment hire, which must be used on the same day.
It is possible to hire a photographic service at an extra cost. There are 2 options: prepaid fee of 10 euros to get all the photos of the class or later purchase with variable prices according to the number of images chosen (1 photo 5 euros) .
In the area there is both free public parking and paid parking.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is last minute. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
