Discover the Ordesa Pyrenees on a private tour that combines the thrill of a 4x4 ride with a snowshoe excursion. Build igloos, have a laugh and share a family adventure packed with fun, nature and mountain scenery.

What we will do

Please arrive 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Aínsa, Huesca. Your guide will be waiting for you there; they will accompany you throughout the experience and tailor the route to suit your pace and interests. After introductions, you’ll climb into the 4x4 vehicles and set off on your adventure towards the heart of the Pyrenees, in the Ordesa area.

The exact area will be chosen depending on the weather conditions, as you’ll be visiting places that can only be reached by 4x4, such as the Añísclo area, the upper Pineta valley, Tabernés or the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park. All offer spectacular scenery, with views of peaks over 3, 000 metres and glacial valleys that will take your breath away.

During the journey, the guide will share interesting facts about nature, history and life in these mountains. Once you arrive at the chosen spot – always a sunny and safe place – you’ll put on your snowshoes for a leisurely stroll through the snow and enjoy the surroundings.

As this is a family-friendly route, fun for the little ones is guaranteed. You’ll play in the snow, build shelters or even a small igloo, and learn about mountain safety in a fun way. Working as a team, you’ll learn how to use rescue equipment just like real mountaineers, in a fun treasure hunt where every discovery is celebrated as a treasure found beneath the snow.

Time will fly by amidst laughter, picture-postcard scenery and shared moments that will stay with you forever. When the sun begins to set behind the mountains, you’ll climb back into the 4x4 to return home with the feeling of having experienced a little but wonderful family expedition.

The entire experience lasts approximately 4 hours, including preparations and travel time.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for all ages, but participation with children under 3 years of age is not recommended ( it is advisable to inform the organiser of the experience of the child’s date of birth) .

Minors may take part when accompanied by a responsible adult.

Pregnant women may take part at their own risk. They must inform the organisers of their condition in advance.

The activity is not accessible to wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility, as it includes sections that require a steady gait.

Other information

The activity is available every day from November to March.

The meeting point is not accessible by public transport. Free parking is available on site.

It is important to provide the shoe size and weight of each participant in advance. The snowshoes are adjustable up to size 45.

You must provide the ages of all participants in advance so that the experience can be tailored and the appropriate equipment provided.

If you do not have hiking boots, you can hire them for an additional fee by contacting the tour organiser in advance. Children’s boots are not available for hire; children may use ski boots instead.

Child safety seats are available (for children weighing 0–18 kg, with a backrest for older children) .

Pets are welcome, depending on their breed and size (an additional charge applies) . It is important to contact the organisers in advance to check, depending on the time of year, whether you can bring them along.

A mountain taxi service is available for collection and return from Aínsa. To book this, please contact the organisers directly.

The excursion is conducted in Spanish or English. You must let the organisers know in advance which language you would prefer for the experience.

The experience will not be cancelled if it is snowing, only in the event of adverse weather conditions and taking into account the age of the participants.

Recommended clothing

• Comfortable, waterproof clothing for being out in the snow
• High-top hiking boots (must cover the ankle)
• Waterproof gloves (2 pairs for the children)
