Full description

Are you looking for a challenge to break the monotony?

Give this experience a go in the Portilla ravine, right in the heart of the Serranía de Cuenca. A dynamic yet accessible descent combining up to six abseils and a few jumps into the water. Put yourself to the test with an open-air start and a thrilling finish in a narrower gorge.

Take up the challenge and put your climbing skills to the test.

What we will do

We’ll arrive on time at the meeting point in Villalba de la Sierra. From there, we’ll follow the guide in our own vehicles to the most convenient car park.

Before setting off, we’ll hear an initial briefing on how this exciting experience in the Serranía de Cuenca will unfold. We’ll then complete a half-hour approach walk to the entrance to the gorge, where we’ll finish kitting ourselves out with all the necessary individual technical equipment and receive key safety and technical instructions .

Adventure awaits! The descent down the Portilla Gorge will be divided into two distinct sections. We’ll tackle an initial, more open and very accessible section, which will give us our first taste of abseiling. We’ll then move on to a more enclosed stretch, which holds the most thrilling moments.

In total, there will be six consecutive abseils and several jumps, depending on the river’s flow. Once we’ve got the hang of abseiling, nothing will be able to stop us. However, if we decide it’s better to leave the challenge for another time, we can exit the gorge before reaching the narrowest part.

After completing the descent, we’ll take a 30-minute walk back through the countryside – the perfect time to chat about the highlights of the experience amidst laughter.

The activity will last a total of between 3 and 4 hours from the time we arrive at the meeting point.
