Visit an authentic barraca, get on a handcrafted boat and sail between canals surrounded by nature until you reach the heart of the lake. There, in peace and quiet, you will enjoy the most spectacular sunset in Valencia. All guided by local boatmen who will tell you stories, curiosities and secrets of this unique spot. What we will do

The appointment will be 15 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in the Albufera Valenciana, right on the shore of the lake. There you will be met by the boatman, who will be your guide throughout the whole experience. But before getting on the boat, you will make a special stop: you will visit an authentic barraca, the traditional house of the fishermen of the area, where you will be able to see how the inhabitants lived (and some of them still live) in this unique corner of Valencia.

Then, yes, you will board an 8-metre long, handmade boat , and start sailing through the canals surrounded by vegetation. You will pass through the famous Sequiota, one of the most important and oldest canals, and you will advance among birds, reeds and some natural surprises. With luck you will see ducks, herons, cormorants, the occasional marsh harrier soaring overhead, and in season even flamingos.

Your destination will be the heart of the lake, known as El Lluent, where the view opens up completely. There, in the middle of the water and in the silence of the surroundings, you will stop the boat to enjoy the sunset. There are no buildings, no cars, no noise: just the reflection of the sun on the water and the colourful sky. A great moment.

During the whole trip, the boatman will tell you stories, curiosities about traditional fishing, how these boats are built and why the Albufera is such a special place, not only for its beauty, but also for its history and culture.

At the end of the sunset, you will start the return trip as the last light of day falls over the canals.

In total it will be an hour and a half of disconnection and nature. A private, relaxed and perfect experience to end the day in the best way.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone without age limit; minors (up to 15 years old) must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 16 to 17 year olds may participate with a signed authorisation.

The boat is accessible for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility. To notify your presence in advance, please contact the organisers using the contact details on the booking confirmation email.

Other information

The activity takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday.

Children under 3 years old do not pay admission.

You will be on board a typical boat of the Albufera or albuferenc, 8 metres long. A shallow draft boat with no keel. Initially, to leave the wharf, you will use the traditional perch to push off from the bottom, and then continue sailing with the motor.

Dogs are allowed on board.

Free parking is available at the meeting point.

You can also get there by public transport with bus line no. 24 of the EMT.
