The Albufera is a paradise for birds. And you can sail it in silence, first thing in the morning, in a traditional boat.
This 2-hour ornithological tour includes a brief visit to the ethnological museum and a journey along little-travelled routes, guided by a specialist who will help you spot the most characteristic species of the season.

What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the scheduled time at the meeting point in El Palmar.
The guide will welcome us and give us a 10-15 minute introduction to the ethnological museum, where we will learn about how the Albufera was formed and its evolution to become a protected ecosystem.
Afterwards, we will walk about 150 metres to the traditional boat, known as albuferenc. Traditionally, it was propelled by a perch, a system that allows it to move by pushing against the bottom. Nowadays, the perch is used to turn and anchor, while the boat is propelled by a small motor.
A local guide, an expert in birds, will lead us on this trip around the waters of the lagoon, as he will also be our boatman. There is no fixed route: the itinerary varies according to the season in order to follow the birds and get close to their roosts.
We will sail along non-commercial routes, looking for the quietest spots. We will see different species of birds from among the 300 that pass through this environment throughout the year. We will make stops to observe them calmly, photograph them and study them, always respecting their space.
The walk lasts approximately 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied.
People with reduced mobility will receive assistance to board the boat. The activity is accessible by manual wheelchair (electric/motorised wheelchairs are not suitable).

The starting time depends on the sunrise, so it may vary slightly. You will be informed in advance of any possible changes.
You will be on board a typical Albufera boat oralbuferenc, a shallow draft boat without keel, specially developed to navigate the lagoon. In addition to the traditional perch to push itself along the bottom, it has a small motor.
Parking is available for customers, but on weekends it is advisable to arrive earlier. It can also be reached by bus 24 from Valencia.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
