Are you ready to listen to the deer roar and discover who else is hiding in the forest?
On this 5-hour route you will walk around Monte de El Pardo at dusk to experience the rutting rut - the deer's reproductive period, when the males compete with each other by bellowing - and also observe fallow deer, wild boar and birds of prey in full activity.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point on the Monte de El Pardo, near Colmenar Viejo, where we will start our afternoon route. After a brief presentation, we will start an interpretative route of about 3 km, in which we will discover the flora of the environment and learn to identify traces and signs of the fauna that inhabits this natural lung of Madrid.
When we arrive at the main observation point, we will settle in for a quiet wait while the sun goes down. With the help of binoculars and telescopes, we will try to see and hear the deer in full rut, that impressive sound with which the males compete for the favour of the females. We will also be able to observe other species common to Monte de El Pardo, such as fallow deer, wild boar, imperial eagles, black and griffon vultures and grey herons, always subject to the randomness of nature.
When the sun goes down we will start our way back, attentive to the sounds of the forest at night. If we are lucky, we may hear or see some of the nocturnal birds of prey in the area, such as the eagle owl or tawny owl, which begin their activity when darkness falls.
The experience lasts approximately 5 hours, in the afternoon, and only takes place during the rutting season, between September and October.

Ideal for beginners as well as experienced animal watching enthusiasts.
Suitable for children over 8 years old. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is not suitable for people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users.

The activity is available during the rutting season, between September and October, from 17: 00 h onwards.
Groups are limited to a maximum of 10 people.
Parking is available at the meeting point.

Pets are not allowed as this is a wildlife watching activity.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
