Full description
Forget the usual tourist routes and discover the wild side of Granada in a 4x4.
Drive for about 3 hours through the Geopark of Granada: visit the Mirador del Fin del Mundo, go through historic villages, watch brave bulls behind the fence in a cattle ranch, pass through old mines, see the reservoir of Cogollos de Guadix and stop at the castle of La Calahorra.
A complete adventure that you will want to repeat!
What we will do
We will meet 15 minutes before the agreed time in Guadix, right in the heart of the Geopark of Granada, on the hidden face of the Sierra Nevada. There we will be met by our guide, who will explain the route, answer our questions and put us in adventure mode before we get into the 4x4.
We will start the route by heading to the spectacular Mirador del Fin del Mundo, a natural balcony that looks like something out of the Grand Canyon itself. From there we will enjoy breathtaking views of badlands, gullies and the high plateau that stretches all the way to the Sierra Nevada, and we will make a stop to contemplate the landscape and take photos.
We will then continue our route passing through several villages of the Marquesado, with their quiet streets and rural charm. Further on we will arrive at one of the cattle ranches in the area known as Toro Bravo, where we will be able to see these impressive animals up close, just 10 metres away, behind the fence and in total safety, an exciting stop you won't forget!
The adventure will continue to the Cogollos de Guadix reservoir, in the northern foothills of the Sierra Nevada, a serene spot surrounded by nature where we can make another brief stop to enjoy the surroundings. Then we will continue visiting other villages full of history, while our guide will tell us curiosities about each place we pass through.
On the way to La Calahorra we will pass by the old iron mines of the village of Alquife, and we will end up arriving at the imposing castle of La Calahorra, where we will stop to explore it and enjoy its unique views.
The route will end at the starting point after covering between 35 and 40 km full of amazing landscapes, history and unforgettable moments.
In total it will be approximately 3 hours of pure excitement in a 4x4 through the wildest and most unknown side of Granada.
