Full description
A winter hike for those who enjoy a bit of a challenge.
Set off from Aínsa in a 4x4 towards the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park to complete a Level II snowshoe route. For 2 or 3 hours, tackle steep slopes, traverse frozen forests and put your physical endurance to the test in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees.
Get ready for 5 hours of adventure. You’re going to love it.
What we will do
We’ll meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Aínsa, Huesca. The guide who will be with us throughout the experience will be waiting for us there. After introductions, we’ll climb into the 4x4 vehicle and begin our adventure towards the heart of the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park.
The exact location will be chosen depending on the weather and snow conditions. In any case, we’ll visit places that can only be reached by 4x4, such as the Añisclo area, the upper Pineta valley, Viadós or Tabernés. All offer spectacular panoramic views, with vistas of peaks over 3, 000 metres and impressive glaciers.
Once we reach our chosen spot, we’ll put on our snowshoes and set off, tackling snow-covered slopes to broaden our mountain views and enjoy the winter Pyrenees to the full. This will be a Level II route, featuring elevation changes and the odd physical challenge; perfect for anyone who loves stepping out of their comfort zone and making the most of outdoor experiences.
During the walk, the guide will show us hidden spots and tell us about the geology, history and wildlife of this unique part of the Pyrenees. We’ll put our fitness to the test during a 2- or 3-hour walk, but there’ll also be opportunities to stop and take in the views, have a laugh and take some souvenir photos.
The experience will last approximately 5 hours in total, although the duration may vary slightly depending on the group and the weather conditions.
