Full description
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the booking time at the meeting point in La Pedriza, Madrid. Before starting, we will receive a brief introduction from the mountain guide and some basic information about the route. It is recommended to arrive in advance to organise the group and start at a good pace.
We will start the route ascending through a pine forest. As we progress, we will leave the vegetation behind to enter the most emblematic rocky terrain of La Pedriza. We will pass by formations such as El Pájaro or Las Torres, while the guide will share stories, geological data and curiosities of the area.
In the more technical sections we will learn how to progress on the rock safely, always with the guide's indications and help.
The final section will take us to the base of the Yelmo, an impressive granite structure that we will reach after overcoming a small chimney. We will crown the summit at 1, 717 metres and, from the top, we will enjoy 360º panoramic views of the Sierra de Guadarrama.
After a break to rest, have something to eat and celebrate the conquest, we will start a quiet descent, following an itinerary that will allow us to return to the starting point.
The activity will last between 5 and 6 hours.
Who it is aimed at
No experience is necessary, but some physical fitness is recommended.
Participants from the age of 11 can take part. Minors need the authorisation of a legal guardian and are advised to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is not accessible for people with motor disabilities.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
