Have you ever wondered what it feels like to venture deep into the earth and explore an old underground mine?
At Cirat Cave in Montán, Castellón, a caving adventure awaits you, lasting a total of three and a half hours, with two and a half hours of underground exploration. Kitted out with a helmet and head torch, you’ll make your way through galleries filled with stalactites and stalagmites, negotiating slopes, descents and fun crawl spaces. A Level 1 route, ideal for beginners, led by qualified guides, which includes tickets to relax at the Montanejos thermal baths.
What we will do
We’ll meet at the agreed time at the meeting point in Montán, Castellón. There, we’ll meet our qualified guides, who will welcome us and provide us with the necessary technical equipment: a helmet with a head torch and a caving suit to get us ready for exploration.
Once ready, we’ll board the organisation’s transport to the vicinity of Cirat Cave and take a 30-minute walk to its spectacular entrance. Once there, the instructors will give us technical training on the use of lighting and the essential safety guidelines for moving nimbly underground.
It’s time to venture into the bowels of the mountain! We’ll pass through its monumental entrance, making the most of the natural light for the first few metres before switching on our headlamps. Along a route stretching from 600 metres to over a kilometre through galleries that once housed an old mine, we’ll enjoy two and a half hours of pure adventure, navigating slopes, balance sections, descents and fun crawl spaces , surrounded by impressive stalactites, stalagmites and geological flow formations.
After completing the journey and emerging back into the light, we’ll set off on the return journey to Montán. We’ll say goodbye to the team and collect our tickets to round off the day at the Fuente de los Baños thermal baths in Montanejos, making for a total of three and a half hours’ experience, including transfers, the approach and the underground exploration.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone; you don’t need any prior knowledge of caving.
The minimum age to take part is 8 years (children under this age must always be accompanied by an adult) .
It is essential that you do not suffer from claustrophobia.
This activity is not suitable for pregnant women or participants with reduced mobility.
Other information
The experience is available all year round. There are daily tours in the morning (09: 30) and in the afternoon (16: 30) .
The tour is confirmed subject to a minimum of 4 people (maximum 20 participants per group) .
Free parking is available at the meeting point. We do not recommend travelling by public transport.
Pets are not allowed.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
