Introduction to diving in Benidorm

Are you fascinated by the sea and have you always dreamt of breathing underwater? This is your chance!

Get started in the world of diving with your first scuba diving lesson in Benidorm. You’ll prepare with a theory session and practice in confined waters, finishing with an open-water dive to a depth of 12 metres. All under the guidance of a certified instructor.

If you enjoy it, you’ll be ready to continue your training. Trust us, it’s addictive.

What we will do

We’ll meet at the selected time at the meeting point, at the diving centre in Benidorm. The instructor who will be with us throughout the experience will be waiting for us there.

We will have already completed the online training (divided into 3 chapters, each taking approximately 1 hour) , so we’ll start with a theory session covering diving, the equipment and safety rules. You’ll also need to complete a compulsory medical questionnaire before continuing.

Fully kitted out, we’ll get our first taste of diving by practising in confined waters, always following the instructor’s guidance, who will be on hand to guide us through every movement. Then it’ll be time to take things a step further: we’ll put what we’ve learnt to the test with an open-water dive lasting around 50 minutes ( or until our oxygen supply runs out) , during which we’ll be able to reach a depth of up to 12 metres.

We’ll explore the seabed surrounded by fish and unique underwater landscapes. Depending on the conditions, we’ll be diving off the island of Benidorm, at Mal Pas beach, or in the El Torres area… We’ll swim amongst schools of castanets, stingrays, moray eels, white seabream and gilthead seabream, amongst other species.

Diving is addictive, so we’ll be ready to continue our training with further sessions.

The total duration of the experience will be 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is open to children aged 10 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult who, if not doing the activity, must at least attend.

You don't need any qualifications or previous experience, but it is important to feel comfortable in the water.

The activityis not permitted for pregnant women or people with recent surgery, uncertified medical problems or under medication. If specific medical conditions are present, a medical certificate will be required.

People with mobility problems will have to communicate in advance the need for assistance by contacting the organiser using the contact details provided in the booking confirmation email.

Other information

The experience is available all year round.

The activity consists of the first part of the scuba diving course. You can continue with the second and third confined-water sessions and the second open-water dive (total price to continue the course: 155 euros) .

IMPORTANT: once your booking has been confirmed, you’ll need to register on the SSI website (https: //divessi. com/register/ref/711170) , complete your personal profile, and complete the online theory for the Scuba Diver course (3 short chapters) .

There is free parking near the meeting point and the area is accessible by bus ( line 3 from Benidorm town centre) .

The diving centre’s facilities include changing rooms with hot showers and lockers for storing personal belongings.

There is no designated area for accompanying adults who are not taking part in the activity, unless they need to be present whilst a child is diving.

Diving is not recommended within 12 hours of a flight.
