Honey is sweet, but its history is even sweeter.
Discover how a beehive works, meet its inhabitants and taste honey and apiary products in a 2-hour experience in Fondos de Vega.
A fun, natural plan designed to be enjoyed with the whole family.
What we will do
We will meet at the agreed time at the meeting point in Fondos de Vega, in Degaña, where our beekeeping experience will begin. After the welcome, we will enter the showroom of the farm, the place where everything that happens inside the hive starts to make sense. There we will be given a detailed explanation of what the hive is like, who its inhabitants are and what role each one plays in this small, perfectly organised universe, arousing the curiosity of both children and adults.
Then, we will discover how the bees transform nectar into honey and how other products from the apiary are made, such as propolis and honey jams. We will get to know each step of the process, understand its characteristics and learn why these products are so highly valued. Then comes one of the most awaited moments: the tasting, where we will be able to try these flavours directly from the apiary and, if we feel like it, buy them to take a little piece of the experience home.
Finally, we will come to one of the most fun moments of the visit. Beekeeper costumes will be handed out for those who want to put them on, take photos and experience for a few minutes the sensation of being part of the beehive. A closing designed to be enjoyed without haste and to share laughs with the family.
In total, it will be an experience of approximately 2 hours in which we will learn about the fascinating world of bees and enjoy together, young and old, a natural, educational and very sweet activity.

People of all ages can participate.
Children must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The experience is suitable for pregnant women, but is not recommended for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

The experience takes place all year round.
It takes place every Saturday and during the summer every day, starting at 10: 00.
Free parking is available at the meeting point. It is not recommended to arrive by public transport.
Pets are not allowed during the bee experience.
Non-participating companions can wait at the meeting point.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
