Full description

Learning to ski by falling over is all well and good, but having a private instructor is much more effective.

At the Sierra Nevada ski resort, you’ll enjoy a one-hour private skiing or snowboarding lesson, either on your own or in an exclusive group of up to four people. Under the guidance of a qualified instructor, you’ll progress at your own pace , whatever your age or ability. It’s also perfect if you want your little ones to start skiing under the guidance of a professional.

Get ready to take control of the slopes like you’ve never imagined before.

What we will do

The instructor will meet you about 10 minutes before the lesson starts at the Sierra Nevada resort. To get to the meeting point, you’ll take the Ál-Andalus cable car.

Once on the snow, the qualified instructor will assess your skills and those of your group to design a bespoke plan, whether in a one-to-one session or a private group of up to four people.

The tuition will be fully tailored to your pace across four levels: from taking your first steps and finding your balance to perfecting turns, parallel transitions and advanced techniques. During one hour of actual instruction in your chosen discipline – skiing or snowboarding – we’ll make the most of every run to build fluency and confidence.

Including the initial preparations, assessment and on-slope lesson, the activity will last approximately one and a half hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The course is suitable for all levels from the age of 3.

Children must be accompanied to the meeting point and authorisation from a legal guardian is required.

We recommend contacting the ski school to let them know your child’s age and ability level. You will receive the contact details in your booking confirmation email.

This activity is not recommended for pregnant women.

The lessons are not accessible to people with disabilities.

Other information

Lessons take place during the ski resort’s opening season, roughly from late November to early April.

IMPORTANT: the ski pass is not included, but the ski school can arrange this in advance. You can also hire equipment from the same ski school and collect it from the Dornajo Building in Plaza Andalucía, Pradollano: adults €36 per person, children up to 11 years old €24. 50 per person. You will receive the ski school’s contact details in your booking confirmation email.

The lesson levels are as follows:

Skiing

  • Level A – Beginner: has never skied before. Starts from scratch with handling the equipment and taking the first steps on the slopes.
  • Level B – Beginner: learns wedge turns and begins the transition to parallel turns.
  • Level C – Intermediate: you’ve mastered basic parallel turns and can ski confidently on green and blue runs.
  • Level D – Advanced: you can ski in parallel on any type of run and are perfecting long and short turns, as well as other techniques.

Snowboarding

  • Level A – Beginner: has never snowboarded before. First experience with the board and learning the basic stance.
  • Level B – Beginner: learn to slide and make your first turns with confidence.
  • Level C – Intermediate: improves board control, links turns with ease and moves independently around the resort.
  • Level D – Advanced: refine your technique and control of the board, with the option to try your hand at freeriding or freestyle.

There are pay-and-display car parks in the area leading to the Al-Ándalus cable car. It is also possible to reach the area by public transport.
