Full description
A horse ride at dawn, right in the heart of the Montserrat Natural Park, with breakfast included. Can you think of a better way to start the day?
You’ll ride at a walking pace along dirt tracks, passing through woods, open fields and part of the historic Way of St James. You’ll always be guided by a professional, with the silhouette of Montserrat accompanying you throughout the ride. And to round it off, a home-cooked breakfast at the ranch: farm-fresh eggs, bread with cold meats, biscuits, coffee…
A private experience designed for those looking for something different, even if they have no previous riding experience. The taste of total relaxation.
What we will do
The meeting point will be in Castellbell i el Vilar, Barcelona. Our riding guide will meet us there 10 minutes before 6 am.
The horses will already be saddled and ready to go, so we’ll start with a short introductory briefing to go over the basic safety rules and learn how to give the first commands. We’ll be using American-style saddles, which are comfortable and accessible even for those with no previous experience.
We’ll cover around 12 km along dirt tracks, with varied terrain but gentle gradients. We’ll ride through woods, cross a small river and pass by the Romanesque chapel of Sant Jaume de Castellbell. As we climb, we’ll reach an open area of cereal fields from where we’ll enjoy spectacular views of Montserrat, bathed in the light of the rising sun.
On our return to the ranch, a full homemade breakfast featuring local produce will be waiting for us: farm-fresh eggs, cured meats, bread, pastries and coffee, all in a peaceful, rural setting.
The activity will last a total of around 3 hours, of which approximately 1½ hours will be spent on horseback.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children aged 12 and over. Children under the age of 18 can participate with a signed authorisation from a guardian.
The activity is easy, perfect even for first-time riders.
A maximum weight of 90 kg is required to participate.
The activity is not suitable for people with mobility problems or pregnant women.

The activity is available from June to September.
The timetable may be subject to slight changes. Should this be the case, the activity organiser will contact you in advance.
You will need to provide the organiser with your weight, height and level of experience in advance via WhatsApp (no phone calls) . You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Breakfast is tailored to participants’ preferences, which must be communicated in advance. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available on request .
The saddle used is the American-style saddle. The guide rides along with the group and, in the case of large groups, two guides will participate.
Accompanying guests may wait at the equestrian centre. Dogs are not permitted.
Free parking is available on site.
IMPORTANT: the meeting point is not directly accessible by public transport. The only option is the Ferrocarrils de Catalunya service from Barcelona-Plaça Espanya to Castellbell i El Vilar. From there, you’ll need to book a transfer service for groups of up to 4 people at a cost of 20 euros each way. Please contact the ranch in advance; you’ll receive the contact details in your booking confirmation email.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
