Seeing Loarre Castle is impressive. .. . But riding around it on horseback is another story!
Enjoy a 2-hour horseback ride through protected forests and natural viewpoints around the castle, crossing pre-Pyrenean terrain and enjoying spectacular views, with an aperitif included at the end.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the equestrian centre in Loarre, Huesca. Upon arrival, our guide will welcome us and explain how the experience will take place.
Before setting off, we will receive a brief safety briefing, lasting between 5 and 10 minutes, where we will learn the basic rules of the ride. Then, we will start our 2-hour horse riding route, leaving from the riding school and going up to the west side of Loarre Castle, considered the best preserved Romanesque castle in Europe and one of the most complete fortresses of the 11th century.
The route runs through pre-Pyrenean terrain, crossing a particularly beautiful protected forest, whose leaves change colour depending on the season. We will also pass through areas of pine forest and mountain paths that offer a privileged panoramic view of the castle and, from the top, open views over the province of Huesca.
Throughout the route we will be accompanied by the guide, who may be on horseback or on foot depending on the group and the level of the participants. At the end of the route, we will return to the horse-riding centre to enjoy an aperitif included, with a cold meats and cheese platter accompanied by a soft drink, beer or water, the perfect end to an experience full of nature, landscapes and calm.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children aged 5 and over.
Children between 5 and 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult and will never do the route alone.
This activity is suitable for beginners.
To ensure the welfare of the horses, the maximum weight allowed is 100 kg. If this weight is exceeded, the organisers must be notified in advance so that a suitable horse can be assigned.
The activity is not recommended for pregnant women.
The experience is accessible for people with visual or mobility impairments, as an adapted saddle is available (one seat per route) .

The activity is available every day of the year.
Free parking is available at the meeting point. It is not possible to arrive by public transport.
Horses will be saddled before the start of the ride. Australian saddles are used; English saddles are available on request.
For safety reasons, the use of mobile phones on horseback is not permitted, but the experience includes photos and video to be taken during the ride.
The ride is suitable for beginners and can be adapted to suit the group. The guides will accompany the route on horseback or on foot according to the needs of the group.
The groups are small. The route is confirmed with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 7 participants.
Pets are not allowed during the ride. They can wait at the riding school.
If you prefer to do the horse ride alone, without aperitif, you can select the option "ride only" when booking.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
