You’re already looking forward to being there, aren’t you? You’ll start by riding through the vineyards of Siurana, learn about the organic and biodynamic wine-making project at the Clos de Basella winery, and taste five of its finest wines.
This experience has it all if you’re looking to connect with the region in the most authentic way.
What we will do
The riding instructor will meet us about 15 minutes before the start of the ride at the equestrian tourism centre in the village of Siurana, in the Alt Empordà region. If we wish, we can arrive even earlier to groom the horses, help with the preparations and start building a bond with the horse that will accompany us on the ride.
Following a detailed explanation of the activity and the rules of conduct, we’ll be ready to set off on a 1½-hour ride through the vineyards of the Alt Empordà. It’ll be the perfect way to start getting in tune with the local area.
After the horse ride, we’ll travel by private car to the Clos de Basella winery, located just a few kilometres away. We’ll be welcomed by an expert wine tourism guide, who’ll lead us on a 15-minute walk through the vineyards surrounding the estate and a tour of the biodynamic orchard. There, we’ll be given an explanation of the principles of organic viticulture and biodynamic agriculture that underpin the Clos de Basella project .
The tour will continue inside the winery, where we’ll have 30 minutes of guided commentary to learn about the specifics of the winemaking process and the estate’s philosophy that defines each label.
And then all that remains is to taste the result. We’ll settle into the tasting area and have time to enjoy a guided tasting of five wines: two from the main range (Ú white and Ú red) and three from the Premium range (the white Eos and the reds Selene and Geum) . The guide will teach us how to identify their organoleptic characteristics and appreciate the nuances that the terroir imparts to each glass.
The experience will last approximately two and a half hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
Although the experience is designed for adults, it is suitable for all ages.
Children aged 5 and over can take part in the horse ride.
The maximum weight for horse riding is 95 kg.
Pregnant women are advised not to take part , and the experience is not suitable for people with mobility impairments or those in wheelchairs.

The experience is available all year round.
Pets are not permitted.
You can bring carrots or apples to feed the horses. If you’d like to help with grooming and preparing the animals, please let the experience organiser know in advance. You’ll receive their contact details in your booking confirmation email.
If you’d like to take photos or videos with your mobile phone or camera during the experience, please ensure they are securely fastened.
There is free parking at both the equestrian tourism centre and the winery, but it is not possible to reach the area by public transport.
If you arrive in Siurana by taxi, you can ask the organiser to arrange transport from the equestrian tourism centre to the winery. You will receive the contact details in your booking confirmation email.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
