Horse riding through the Salinas de Hinojares salt flats and along the Turrilla River in Jaén

Imagine riding through landscapes that look like something out of a western film. .. but on horseback and in Jaén.

Enjoy a 2-hour horseback ride through the Salinas de Hinojares and the river Turrilla, passing by viewpoints, olive groves and old salt springs in the heart of the Natural Park of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas. It will be an unforgettable experience!

What we will do

We will meet at the agreed time at the meeting point in Hinojares, in the middle of nature. On arrival, the guide will welcome us and tell us how the experience will unfold. The horses will be ready, and before riding we will be able to get close to them, touch them and start to create that first connection that makes the difference from the very first moment.

Before starting the route, we will have a brief introduction of about 10 minutes, where we will learn in a simple way how to take the reins, the order of the group and how the horse behaves during the ride. Everything is designed so that we go out with security, confidence and the desire to enjoy ourselves.

When everything is ready, we will begin our 2 hour horseback ride. We will start riding towards natural viewpoints, from where the landscape opens up and allows us to see the vastness of the surroundings. Little by little, the trail will take us to some old salt mines with salt water springs, a surprising and semi-desert place that looks like something out of a western scene, with a unique atmosphere different from any other horseback riding route.

We will continue riding through stretches of olive groves, with open views of the landscape, until we reach a panoramic entrance to the village of Hinojares and the river Turrilla, whose course accompanies part of the final stretch of the route, bringing freshness and contrast to the surroundings.

Throughout the whole experience we will be accompanied by the guide, who will set a calm pace adapted to the group. The route is designed to let yourself go, observe the landscape and live an authentic experience in the heart of the Natural Park of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for children aged 5 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Easy level route, suitable for beginners.

Pregnant women and people with reduced mobility can participate only if they have previous experience on horseback.

Not suitable for wheelchair users .

To ensure the welfare of the horses, the maximum weight allowed is 100 kg.

Other information

The activity is available all year round, from Monday to Sunday.

Groups are small, with a maximum of 7 participants.

There is free parking at the meeting point. Access by public transport is limited, with bus from Jaén.

Pets are not allowed during the activity.

• Riding boots or trainers (hiking boots are not recommended)
