Discover the magic of the Picos de Europa with a horseback route that you won't forget.
Starting just 6 km from Potes, experience a 3-hour guided route that will take you from the heart of the Picos de Europa to the charming village of Pendes, the centenary chestnut grove of El Habario and Colio, where the remains of an old cavalry school are still preserved. A great plan for those who already have experience riding a horse and want to experience an authentic adventure in the mountains, nature and tradition.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the equestrian centre in Cillorigo de Liébana, just 6 km from Potes, in the heart of the Picos de Europa. There we will be met by the equestrian guide, who will explain the route and help us to get equipped, so that we feel comfortable and safe from the very first moment.
Before riding, we will receive a brief explanation with some notions of safety and details about the route, so that we can enjoy with confidence. We will be assigned a horse according to our profile, and we will go out in a group, always accompanied by 1 or 2 monitors. The groups are small, with a maximum of 8 people, so the experience is very close and personalised.
The 3-hour circular route starts in the direction of the beautiful village of Pendes, a Cantabrian corner surrounded by mountains that seems to have been taken from another time. From there, we will enter El Habario, a thousand-year-old chestnut grove with a spectacular landscape and ecological value. We will stop for a moment to enjoy the surroundings, breathe in the fresh air and let ourselves be enveloped by the atmosphere of the forest. We will then continue on to Colio, another charming village, where we will pass by the remains of an old cavalry school. Our guide will tell us interesting facts about the place and give us details about the history of the area along the way.
The return to the equestrian centre will be along mountain trails with open and spectacular landscapes. It will be a varied and active route, in which we will also enjoy trotting and even galloping, always adapting to the pace of the group.
In total, we will enjoy an experience of approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes, between the preparation, the explanation and the horse ride.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children aged 10 and over. Minors can participate accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is designed for those who already have some experience on horseback, as along the route we will alternate walking, trotting and in some sections even galloping.
To participate, you must not exceed 110 kg in weight.
The activity is not suitable for wheelchair users or pregnant women.
In case of reduced mobility requiring minimal assistance, participation is possible but you must inform the organisers in advance .You will receive the contact details in the email confirming your booking.

The activity is available all year round, from Monday to Saturday, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.

English riding is used. The guide participates on horseback.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
